The Rising Phoenix

The proclamation, issued by Mayor Connor S. Martin, recognizes the vital role adult education plays in our community—providing opportunities for residents to strengthen literacy and English languageskills, earn credentials, prepare for the workforce, and pursue personal and professional goals.

This special recognition celebrates the students, families, educators, and staff who make adult education a powerful force for lifelong learning and opportunity. We are grateful to the Town of East Hartford for recognizing the impact of adult education and for celebrating the incredible contributions of our learners and programs.

Every Student. Every Day. Every Opportunity.

At East Hartford Adult Education, we know that life doesn’t always bring calm waters. Sometimes the waves are unexpected, challenging, and bigger than we imagined. But every wave is also an opportunity—to learn, to grow, and to discover just how strong we truly are.

Riding the Wave is a reminder that resilience isn’t about avoiding the storms; it’s about learning how to navigate them. It’s about getting back up when you fall, adjusting your course when life changes direction, and continuing to move forward—even when the path isn’t clear.

As we look ahead, we celebrate not only how far we’ve come, but what is still waiting for us beyond the horizon. New goals. New opportunities. New beginnings. New possibilities.

So students, keep your eyes on the horizon, trust your journey, and remember: the strongest waves can carry us to places we never imagined.

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep moving forward.

Together, we’re riding the wave.
