Focusing Our Commitment to Unlimited Success
3rd Annual EHS Faculty Chili Cook-off Contest
🏆Congratulations to Mrs. Salinas for her "Almighty Chili" which overwhelming earned the highest votes because God Almighty was working through her. 🏅
🥈Mrs. Jackson's "A Spicy Kick" chili got 2nd place because "it's so good you will ASK for more"
🥉Mrs. Curtis' "Just Chili" came in 3rd.
Rounding out the rest of the places were:
"The Scarlet Pepper"
"Chernobyl Fire Fever"
"Chi-li Feast"
"Not Real Chili"
"HTown Spice"
"Sweetness"
The teachers had a great time with lots of trash talk happening in the week leading up to the contest. Mr. Sims had won the last two years so everyone was ready to dethrone him this year.
Our students did a great job. 33 students participated to judge the chilis. After each chili, they filled out their score cards. The results were tabulated and the winner was announced during lunch. Mrs. Salinas was more than excited to take the trophy from Mr. Sims.
We even had the multi-lingual department and a few substitute teachers participate in the voting too.
It was a lot of fun walking around and hearing all of the comments by the kids as they blind-voted on the chili samples. Of course you had to have a thick skin when you knew they were talking about yours.
Everyone had a great time and our bathrooms were well-used following the event.

Here's a bird's eye view of our students partcipating.
Stream Night!
Mrs. Perez, with the help of her husband spent the evening at Channelview High School for their STREAM Night. She brought a fun activity to teach the visitors all about DNA. They had a lot of fun and we are proud they were able to represent EHS to the community.

ACT/SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
