Morning Worship and Devotion
Daily Scripture Focus
Each morning we start the day with a time of singing and a word from scripture. Morning devotion time is a time for focus, learning, and putting God first in what we do each day.
The morning devotion is led by Mr. Yearwood most days, but there are also weekly opportunities for students and faculty members to lead.
Some of the scriptures used this week were:
- Matthew 5:16
- Philippians 2:15
- Luke 1:26-33
- Luke 1:30-32
- Luke 1:39-45
Recap of the Latest
Serve Day
During the month of November, our students were especially focused on being thankful and learning more about the call to love others as God first loved us.
In alignment with our school mission – To Educate Classically, To Equip Spiritually, To Send Missionally – all CCS students participated in volunteer service opportunities at school and in the community. From food donations to handmade cards to manual labor to praying with families – students have worked to show the love of Christ.
Our service focused month ended with our 1st Semester SERVE DAY on Tuesday. We love seeing our students as they LEARN, GROW, and SERVE!
- Preschool: Our 3 and 4 year old students worked to create and decorate Thanksgiving cards for nursing home residents. The cards were hand delivered by upper school students.
- Kindergarten: Students in kindergarten created snowflakes to be sent with care packages to military service members.
- 1st and 3rd Grade: Students decorated Thanksgiving placemats to be sent to elderly shut-ins with meals.
- 2nd Grade: Students crafted blue beaded keychains that they prayed over to be sent to our law enforcement officers.
- 4th and 5th Grade: With a little hard work and elbow grease, students completed a much needed campus clean-up time in the gym and on the bleachers.
- 6th Grade: Students spent some time helping at the public library to clean up and organize bookshelves.
- 7th-12th Grade: On Serve Day middle and high school students traveled out in 8 teams to serve at different ministry locations around the community.

Glow Dance and Party
Students enjoyed dancing to their favorite songs at Friday's lower school Glow Party and Saturday's Glow HOCO Dance.
Learning Continues
Active weeks like this make concentration and learning time especially challenging, but students and teachers continued their hard work in the classroom. There are only two weeks left in the semester. They are sure to be packed with important lessons before we take a little break for the holidays.
Christmas Performance
The upper school Fine & Performing Arts Department produced another outstanding show on Friday night. It was a packed house! The Christmas show, Behold Him, was filled with singing, handchime carols, and a compelling reminder of the true reason to rejoice during the Christmas season.
Character Noticed
Sometimes the most important things go un-noticed and we forget to acknowledge them or say thank you. To all our amazing students and families who volunteer and are quick to offer a helping hand, THANK YOU!
King and Queen
Seniors Jack Haynes and Zoe Powell were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
Event Information
