DECEMBER'21 UPDATES

The year end holidays are always eventful at Children's Wishing Well as volunteers, both corporate and individual come onboard to conduct various holiday workshops for our children. This December was no different!

The children were kept engaged by many wonderful volunteers in important topics such as speaking up & presentation, personal grooming, engineering and climate change. These were helpful to build their knowledge and also confidence.

At the same time, they had lots of fun with escape rooms, expressive art, comic workshops, shopping at Changi Airport and food science workshops.

These were not all and one post will not suffice in sharing all the fun but there was definitely a wide spectrum of topics to engage our children. We believe the children had an eventful time this holiday period and a huge thanks to all our volunteers for joining us to make it happen!

As we wrap up the year, it was heartwarming to see and read the many thank you cards made by children who benefitted from our programmes. These included our primary 6 students who recently graduated, as well as the children under our Reach For The Stars programme.

Beyond this, it was also heartening to receive thanks from kind parents who see their children continue to blossom beyond Primary School. One of our children who graduated last year will be progressing from the Normal Technical Stream to Normal Academic stream in 2022. Her parents came all the way from Punggol to express their heartfelt gratitude with some cakes.

We are so heartened to wrap the year with such good energy and look forward to another beautiful year ahead in 2022 of supporting many more children. Check our more of the handmade cards on our Facebook and Instagram pages!

Over the last month we are also grateful to our many corporate sponsors and individual donors for joining in the year end season of giving. We are blessed to have received many donations, both monetary and in-kind.

One such initiative was "Little Hands, Big Heart" ; a project by local SME LionsForge, together with volunteers from Beatty Secondary School, South View Primary School, UWC South East Asia and many more. In the span of a few months, volunteers created toys from scratch to bring to life drawings by our children.

We are grateful to Dr Tan Wu Meng, MP for Clementi (Jurong GRC) for gracing the handover ceremony of the toys. Thank you for your continued support of Children's Wishing Well over the past few years!

It was a heartwarming Christmas indeed!

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead as Children's Wishing Well will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary!

To support our events and plans for the year, we are looking for volunteers skilled in designing, videography, video editing and so on. If you have what it takes, write in to us at info@wishingwell.org.sg to join us and contribute to the anniversary celebrations.
