The KISD Gold Standard

Last week, more than 500 Killeen ISD student-athletes stepped onto Fort Hood for a high-impact, hands-on U.S. Army training experience. Through intense challenges and real-world scenarios, students built teamwork, discipline, and resilience alongside military leaders. The experience offered a powerful look at future career pathways while reinforcing skills developed in athletics and the classroom. It’s another example of how KISD partnerships create meaningful, real-world learning opportunities for students.

The Killeen ISD Education Foundation presented more than $100,000 in scholarships—helping students take their next step with confidence. The evening also honored Distinguished Alumni, reflecting the strength of a district where success doesn’t stop at graduation. It was a clear reminder: what we’re building in KISD matters—and it carries forward in every student, every opportunity, and every future shaped.

Registration is now open for Killeen ISD’s 2026 Summer Fine Arts camps, giving students opportunities to explore theatre, music, and visual arts. These experiences help students build confidence, develop skills, and stay connected to what they love. It’s one more way KISD continues supporting student growth—inside and outside the classroom. Spots are limited, so families are encouraged to register soon.

Killeen ISD is inviting families of incoming pre-K and kindergarten students to Killeen ISD's Roundup—an event designed to make starting school simple, welcoming, and exciting. Families can register, explore what a typical school day looks like, and connect with helpful services—all in one place. It’s a great first step in helping your child feel confident and ready for school. All events will be held at the former Clifton Park Elementary at 2200 Trimmier Rd. in Killeen.

• April 11 (8 AM–1 PM)

Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open for current KISD students—but the deadline is this Friday, April 3. Completing registration now helps campuses plan, finalize schedules, and ensure a smooth start for your student. It only takes a few minutes through Home Access Center, or families can visit their campus for assistance. Take care of it today and set your student up for a strong year ahead.

Killeen ISD will conduct a test of its mass notification system on Thursday, April 2 at approximately 10:30 a.m. as part of a statewide emergency alert test. Families may receive messages from KISD and other agencies—this is only a test. It’s also a good opportunity to make sure your contact information is up to date with your student’s campus.
