February 26, 2024 - 5:30-7:00, Holley Park Community Center - Dinner Provided see details below

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

Please RSVP for dinner lacenterunited@gmail.com. RSVP not required to attend.

Project Opportunity: Positive Community Norms

Our work group for Positive Community Norms (PCN) is starting back up. If you are interested in helping create our first campaign please join us as we create messaging and images based on data.

We will meet on Thursday 2/29 at 5:30 PM at City Hall Conference Room. If you have any questions or need more information please email lacenterunited@gmail.com or call 360-213-8385..

  • Positive Community Norms are based on “the Science of the Positive,” the study of how positive factors impacts culture and experience. Positive Community Norms closes the gap between what we believe to be true and what is actually true.

  • PCN are an approach that promotes protective factors, increases healthy norms, and changes community cultures on issues including substance use, traffic safety, child maltreatment, youth suicide, and more. PCN can help you design and implement powerful communications campaigns that shift perceptions, attitudes and behaviors to achieve authentic community transformation.
