Dear Runyan Families,

Fall is in the air and October is full of events! Make sure to see all upcoming events below. I hope you are enjoying the weekend with your family.

We would like to remind families to follow arrival protocols, remain alert when driving through our school zones, and encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of staying aware of their surroundings and practicing safety when walking, crossing streets, and traveling to and from school.

This is a friendly reminder that CISD will have a student holiday next week. No school on Friday, Oct 9 and Monday, Oct 12. Please plan accordingly. Also, Starting time adjustment begins Tuesday, October 13. See information below.

Free and reduced lunch applications are open! These benefits expired in September, do not wait! Staff members will be calling families and offer support to complete applications. You can also come to school to have access to a computer and complete the online application in the office. APPLY HERE: https://www.myschoolapps.com/

Starting October 13, 2026, elementary days will begin five minutes earlier.

• Early arrival will continue as usual opening doors at 7:10 a.m.
  

• Breakfast will be served starting at 7:25 a.m.
• School announcements will begin at 7:45 a.m.
• Daily instruction will begin at 7:50 a.m.
• Staff members on car rider duty should report to begin instruction at 7:50.
• If your child arrives after 7:50 a.m. it will be considered tardy. Please park and sign in your child at the front office. Please do not leave your child unattended on the front porch.

MAP Growth Assessment Family Reports have been uploaded to the Conroe ISD Home Access Center (HAC). The MAP Growth Family Report summarizes how your student is performing academically, as measured by the most recent MAP Growth test taken. Families can access this report by logging into their Home Access Center Account through the CISD Parent Portal. Directions for logging into the Home Access Center are linked below.

Once you have entered the Home Access Center:

• Click on the District Applications tab

• Click on "MAP Testing Reports"

To learn more about the MAP Growth test, you can view the What is MAP Growth Video for Families (English) or Qué es MAP Growth-Video for families (Spanish). Additional information about MAP Growth can be found by visiting NWEA.org/familytoolkit.

Logging into Home Access Center

To support reading growth, students who did not receive a passing score on the Spring 2026 grade 3 STAAR Reading Language Arts (RLA) assessment are eligible for state-funded tutoring support through a Parent Access to Supplemental Supports (PASS) account. Applications for the $400 PASS tutoring grant opened this week and are now available through the PASS website. An email with instructions on how to apply for the grant was sent to the families of students who qualify.

26/27 Runyan Family Assistance Form

We receive offers from various organizations to help our students and families with supplies, clothing, food and holiday assistance. Fill out the form if you're interested in receiving assistance. One form per family at Runyan.
