Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year!

It's time to register for the 2024-2025 school year! Online registration is REQUIRED for ALL new and returning Miller students. Click on the link below to go to the LISD Online Registration Webpage. When registering, be sure to select the 2024-2025 school year! Please make sure to complete all steps (1-10).

***The class in each grade level with the most registrations by May 6th will get a popsicle party!***

Pre-K & Kinder Orientation--April 4th

If you have a child that is ready to be a Miller Owl, mark your calendars for Pre-K and Kindergarten Orientation on April 4th! Parents may choose to attend one session, and your future Miller Owl is invited to join you! Our teachers will have some fun activities planned for your child.

Morning Session: 8:30-9:30

Evening Session: 5:30-6:30

5th Grade Physicals

If your child will be participating in Pre-Athletics or tennis in middle school, they will be required to have a sports physical. The Community Health Center of Lubbock will be offering sports physicals for $25 at Evans on April 3rd from 8:00-4:00 and on April 10th 8:00-12:00.

STAAR Testing Next Week

STAAR testing begins next week! Students in 3rd-5th grade will take tests on the following days:

Tuesday, April 9th - 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders will take the Reading STAAR test.
Tuesday, April 16th - 5th graders will take the Science STAAR test.
Tuesday, April 23rd - 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders will take the Math STAAR test.

Testing will take place all over the building. Due to the secure testing environment, we will not be able to have visitors in the building on testing days.

If you child will be taking the STAAR test, here are some ways you can help your child be successful on these important tests:

Cell Phones or Smart Watches, including FitBits, must be taken up before the test begins. Electronic devices will be kept in a secure place, however, it is best if students leave their cell phones at home during testing days. If you need to get a message to your child, please call the office.
Please avoid scheduling appointments on testing days.
Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and has a good, hearty breakfast before school. Breakfast will also be provided in the classroom as usual.
It is very important that all students are present and arrive at school on time on testing days. This will ensure they have time to get settled and begin their test promptly.
Students should bring a water bottle from home.
Students will eat sack lunches in their classrooms, and they have all day to complete the test.

Our students have worked hard this year and they are prepared! They are ready to show what they know! Thank you for helping all Miller Owls be successful!

Each month an elementary, middle school, and high school teacher are selected as a "Teacher on The Rise".
