Upcoming Events
PTO General Assembly Meeting
ALL are invited to attend the first PTO meeting of the school year. Come see what PTO is all about! The meeting will take place in the NRE Library on September 12 from 8:45-10:15. Little ones are welcome to tag along and you are free to come and go if you aren’t able to attend the whole meeting. Bring a friend and enjoy free snacks!
Winter Coat & Halloween Costume Drive
Bring your unneeded winter gear (jackets, gloves, hats, boots, etc.) to NRE starting Friday, September 12. We will have bins in the front lobby to drop off things you no longer need. Also, take a look in the bins for anything you might need! Consider it a swap - give what you don’t need and take what you do need! You do not have to make a donation to take something you need. We want to make sure all NRE kiddos have warm gear this winter!
New this year - we will also collect unneeded Halloween costumes. If you see one in the bin that you can use, please take it!
The Coat & Costume Swap will end on Friday, September 26.
Multicultural Night
One of the most special nights of the year - NRE Multicultural Night - will be on Friday, October 3 from 5:00-7:00pm. NRE families host booths to help us celebrate the diverse cultures represented in our school. Would you like to host a booth and showcase your culture? Reach out to Tiffany Malone at tiffanykmalone@gmail.com to reserve your booth or ask questions!
Booth Ideas:
Cultural Booths: Traditional clothing, art, or historical artifacts
Interactive Activities: Host a craft project, game, or storytelling sessions
Global Cuisine: Small samples of cultural foods - candy, food item or drink
Additionally - the evening will be filled with performances by kids from NRE! If your child would like to share a performance with our community, please email tiffanykmalone@gmail.com for more information.
Restaurant Nights
Local restaurants host “spirit nights” where a designated portion of the proceeds from your order will be generously donated back to NRE PTO. All you have to do is mention NRE when ordering. It’s a win-win-win: you get a night off from making dinner (or treats), local restaurants get our business, and PTO receives a donation! Stay tuned for more dates - we are adding more to the calendar all the time!
9/11/25: Fujiyama
9/12/25: Desert Donuts
9/16/25: Arby's
9/30/25: Mici

Principal Letter
Dear Northridge Families and Community,
What a fantastic week it has been at Northridge Elementary, filled with important learning, community fun, and preparation for our biggest event of the year!
Fostering Kindness and PRIDE! 🤝
Today, we held our very important "Be Kind" assemblies for all students. These sessions were a crucial opportunity to reinforce the difference between being mean and bullying, providing students with clear strategies and understanding to foster a truly kind and inclusive school environment. We also took this time to revisit our core PRIDE values, diving deeper into the meaning of our new PRIDE words and how they guide our actions every single day. These assemblies are foundational to the positive culture we are building at NRE. Here is the video that was part of our presentation.
Sweet Success at Cold Stone! 🍦
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our school at Cold Stone Creamery on Tuesday night! It was so much fun seeing so many of our wonderful families, teachers, and staff gathered for some yummy ice cream. Our teachers truly enjoyed getting behind the counter to scoop your favorite cold treats. Events like these not only bring our community together but also provide valuable support to our amazing PTO. Your presence truly made it a sweet success!
Get Ready to Run, Laugh, and Get Soaked! 🎉
Looking ahead to next week, mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 10th – it's our annual Fun Run, our biggest fundraiser of the year! This event is always a highlight, bringing so much joy and energy to our campus. We invite all of you to come join us as our students run laps, laugh, sing along to music, and get thoroughly soaked by water squirters! It's an incredible opportunity to cheer on our students, connect with other families, and help raise vital funds for our school's programs and resources. We can't wait to see you there!
On a Personal Note
I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Mine was fantastic – I managed to escape to the mountains for some camping and rafting with friends. We headed up to Bond, CO, near Kremmling, to float the Colorado River. The rapids aren't massive (mostly Class 1-3), but there's definitely enough excitement to get the adrenaline going! It was wonderful to be immersed in nature and bring a bit of that balance back into my life. Oh…and we had a bear near the campsite! Pictures below.
Thank you, as always, for your support and for being such an important part of the Northridge Elementary community. Enjoy your weekend and I will see you next week!
Smiles,
Erin Lehnert
