Dear Paul F. Doyon Memorial School Families,
Dear Doyon Families,
What a joyful and meaningful week we have shared at the Paul F. Doyon Memorial School! π As the warmer weather arrived, our students and staff embraced each day with energy, kindness, and lots of smiles.
One of the highlights of our week was our annual Memorial Day Assembly. We were honored to welcome veterans into our school community and recognize their service and sacrifice. Our students did a beautiful job presenting a thoughtful and heartfelt ceremony β we are so proud of their respect, care, and leadership.
This was the final week of MCAS. We have been so proud of the work our third, fourth, and fifth grade learners have done as they completed these annual assessments. Thank you also to our families for your support - making sure your students arrived to school on time, well-rested and ready to do their best - during the testing window. We appreciate your partnership!
This week also marked the conclusion of DEEP! Thank you to our volunteers, coordinators, staff, and families for supporting this wonderful program. Most importantly, congratulations to our students for their hard work and growth throughout the year!
On Thursday, we celebrated the birthday of Paul F. Doyon, the veteran for whom our school is proudly named. It was a special opportunity to reflect on the values of service, courage, and community that continue to inspire us every day. Paul F. Doyon would have been 78!
Our students also enjoyed exciting learning experiences beyond the classroom this week! Third graders explored downtown Ipswich with Gordon Harris, while our kindergarten students learned alongside community helpers. A big thank you to our teachers and staff for making these meaningful experiences possible.
As always, please donβt hesitate to reach out with any questions, wonderings, or if your family needs support. Thank you for being such an important part of our Doyon community! π
Warmly,
Mr. Whitehouse-Mullen, Principal
Mrs. Benincasa, Assistant Principal
Field Day
Field Day will take place on Tuesday, June 9 (rain date June 10th). Kindergarten through Grade 2 take place in the morning and 3rd through 5th in the afternoon. Letters for volunteers were sent home last week and are due back on Wednesday, May 27.
Due to a phenomenal response to our volunteer request we regretfully must say that we are not allowing spectators at this event for safety and parking concerns.
Thank you,
Whitney Cardew (wcardew@ipsk12.net)

Beach Day 2026
This year, our elementary and middle school students will trade their classrooms for the sand and surf at Crane's Beach on Wednesday, June 17th (Rain Date: Monday, June 22nd).
Beach Day is a cherished Ipswich tradition that dates back to 1911. It began when the Crane family invited all the town's children to a massive beach picnic to celebrate their son Corneliusβs 6th birthday. Over a century later, we are proud to continue this wonderful legacy.
Doyon CARES
Doyon students did an amazing job demonstrating self-control during the Memorial Day Assembly on Friday! They were respectful and thoughtful in honoring our veteran guests.

Nurse's Notes
Hello Doyon Families!
I have pulled a few ticks off students already so please check your kiddos -especially around ears and scalp.
Click the link below for info on how to remove a tick:
If you think the tick has been attached for greater than 36-48 hours, monitor your child for signs and symptoms of lyme disease including a bull's eye rash, joint pain, and fever. A blood test can be done at 3-4 weeks, sooner if your child develops symptoms, and treatment is antibiotics.
Contact your child's pediatrician or feel free to reach out with any questions.
