April

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Saturday LASL Day at the Louisiana Library Association conference last month. We had a great time, and we hope that you did, too!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Librarian of the Year, Ashley Meaux; to our James O. Modisette winner for Elementary School Library Excellence, Lindsay Loup; and to our James O. Modisette winners for High School Library Excellence, Jessica Neterville and Jessica Kastner.

While I am looking forward to summer, there are also so many things that I have to get done in the next month and a half. If you are feeling stressed, I recommend standing up and going outside for a few minutes to clear your head, or as one of my fourth graders taught me, "touch grass." We are near the close of the 2025-2026 school year--I can see red buoys in the distance at the end of the course, and we only have a few hundred meters to go... (rowing references!)

Best,

Soline Holmes
