It's Another Great Day to be a Tiger!
8/11/2026
Greetings FHS Families!
Lots of excitement in the building! Mark your calendars for next Tuesday, August 18th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, when students and families can stop by for picture day, student ID pickup, iPad pick-up, and schedule changes. The morning of August 18th will also be when schedules are released over Infinite Campus. Our FHS administration team and counselors will be on-site to help answer questions and make sure everyone is ready for day one.
Over the last two years, our incredible community has blown us away with your support for our staff dinner during Open House night. We are once again inviting families to consider donating a food item for our Open House dinner on August 26th. If you would like to contribute and help us treat our teachers and staff, please sign up using our SignUpGenius Link. Food items can be dropped off at our second-floor office anytime before 4:30 PM on August 26th.
Thank you in advance for your constant generosity, support, and partnership. We can't wait to see our learners back in the building!

Good News / Celebrations!
Band Camp!
Nothing signals the start of a new school year quite like the return of music and movement to our campus! Pictured below are some of our incredible band camp participants under the direction of Ms. Holmes and Mr. Meeks. Despite the August heat, these dedicated learners brought high energy, discipline, and enthusiasm to the field each and every day. We couldn’t be more excited to see the Farmington Tiger Marching Band back in action this season. Get ready for a fantastic year!
Picture Day and Open House!
Our back to school picture and iPad pick day will be Tuesday, August 18 from 9:00 - 5:00 pm and Open House will be Wednesday, August 26th from 3:30 - 7:30 pm.
Learners are asked to attend at least one of these two days to get their picture taken (seniors included), pick up their student ID, as well pick up their Ipad if it was returned last Spring. Please remember to fill out the Ipad Loan Agreement BEFORE picking up your Ipad.
For new to FHS families we will have two welcoming presentations during Open House on August 26 in our Recital Hall. We will offer a 4:00pm and a 6:00pm option in hopes of accommodating work schedules. Each session will be about 30 minutes long. I will make sure one of them gets recorded so we can share out to families unable to attend. Open House is also a great way for learners to walk their schedules and get to know their teachers!
Both of these days are also helpful for making approved changes to schedule (more information below in our Counselor section), turning in any medication to our nursing staff, and picking up yearbooks from last year.
Hope to see you in the coming weeks!!!
Kick off the new school year with Community Ed at our Back-to-School with Community Ed event!
Date: Thursday, August 13
Time: 5:30–7:30 pm
Location: Meadowview Elementary School (6100 195th St W.)
This free, family-friendly event is a great way to celebrate the start of the school year while connecting with other Farmington families. This event features a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, school bus tours, food trucks (available for purchase), and more.
We’ll also be collecting donations of essential items to support local families. Everyone who donates will be entered into a raffle drawing for a chance to win great prizes.
Bring the whole family for an evening of fun, community, and excitement as we get ready for another great school year. We hope to see you there!
FHS Activities - Transition to Bound
Farmington High School is pleased to announce a transition to Bound, an all-in-one platform designed to streamline scheduling, ticketing, registration and overall program management. The move aligns with the South Suburban Conference and an overwhelming majority of schools across Minnesota, creating a more unified and efficient system for managing activities and events.
The implementation of Bound will centralize several key functions that were previously handled across multiple platforms. Families, students, and fans will now have a single location to access schedules, purchase tickets, complete registrations, and stay informed on upcoming events.
You’ll also be able to find ways to support your child’s team or activity and stay up to date on the latest FHS athletics and activities news.
Parents/Guardians, fans and supporters will be able to stay connected to all this Farmington High School on the web or through the Bound app.
Farmington High School’s Bound Homepage.
Bound has provided several key, public-facing resources to help you get started.
Registration Information
Please note: As part of the registration process, you will be required to upload a current sports physical for your child. Before beginning registration, please have a copy of the physical available. Once uploaded, the physical will remain on file in Bound and can be used for future registrations until it expires after three years.
As with any new system, there will be a learning curve as we transition. However, schools across Iowa, South Dakota, and many other states have reported positive experiences using this platform, and we are confident it will provide long-term benefits for our students, families, and staff.
As the rollout progresses, families and community members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Bound and take advantage of its features throughout the upcoming season.
Thank you,
Farmington High School Activities & Athletics Department
IMPORTANT: Message From Marschall Lines (Transportation)
As summer is seemingly flying by, I would like to start pushing communication out to ALL 11th and 12th graders in regards to busing needs.
Every year we “un-route” all 11th and 12th grade students as they tend to start driving and we don’t get notified overstating load counts on the buses. We MUST receive a call/email/online form(new) from all 11th and 12th grade students/parents if they NEED to utilize the bus… regardless if they used it last year or not as an 11th grader.
Three ways to notify us:
- Call 651-463-8689 anytime between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm
- Send an email to mlidispatch@mncoaches.com stating students name and that they will need the bus for the upcoming school year!!
- Preferred: Direct link to website form: https://www.marschallline.com/farmington-11th-and-12th-graders-ride-request/
- Or direct them to the website: https://www.marschallline.com/ and proceed to the “for parents” tab where there is a link to the form above.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Marschall Lines directly. Thank you!

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Another year is behind us, and we are looking forward to fall of 2026.
Students will need to have up to date medication orders for fall. These must be signed by your medical provider as well as a parent or guardian. These may be emailed to us over summer or provided to the building nurses the week of August 24th.
New medications may be given to the nurses when school resumes. All medications including over the counter items must have an annual provider order on file and be in the original bottle from the pharmacy. The dose must match the dose on the medical order.
If your student has a special health need such as Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Epilepsy or Diabetes, we must receive doctor orders/action plans prior to school beginning. These must be updated annually and signed by your provider and a parent or guardian.
If your student has had a prior health plan, we will be emailing you the updated version for review and/or planning an in-person meeting. If your student is new to the district, contact us, the building nurse, or administrator if your student will require a health plan.
Minnesota Immunization Law 121A requires that children enrolled in school to be immunized against certain diseases or file a legal medical or conscientious exemption. Each student is required to show proof of receiving the necessary immunizations or provide a notarized statement of medical or conscientious objection to immunization. Please submit your child’s immunizations records as soon as possible and no later than the first day of school.
There are current vaccine requirements for Kindergarten, 7th and 12th grade. These students will need to show proof of vaccination or have a completed objection form prior to school beginning.
If you do not have health insurance that covers the cost of immunizations, please refer to Dakota County Public Health for a list of their immunization clinics at http://www.co.dakota.mn.us/HealthFamily/HealthServices/ImmunizationClinics/Pages/default.aspx.
Please call with any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,

FAQS
When is my learner's first day of school?
Freshman and Link Crew ONLY will kick-off the school year on Monday, August 31st. We will welcome back ALL 9-12 on Tuesday, September 1st!
When will I see my learners schedule?
Schedules are still in the process of being reviewed and modified. Learners will have their schedules available to them before our August 18th Picture/Ipad Day/Schedule change day. More information will come out in the weeks ahead!
What do I need to get for school supplies?
We do not provide specific supply lists as these supply needs vary by course and teacher. Open House is a great time to connect with teachers on what they might recommend as far as supplies. Until then, we recommend the following: pencils, pens, highlighter, notebook, folders, planners and headphones to connect to their iPad. Math courses will either need a Texas Instruments Ti30 or Texas Instruments Ti84 if on an accelerated track starting in 9th grade. We have also found that having an extra charger in a students backpack is helpful for Ipads. Please make sure these are charged for Day 1!
Does my child need a locker?
All 9th and 10th grade learners are assigned a locker. Juniors and Seniors will need to request a locker in the 3rd floor counseling office during Open House. Lockers are optional for students to use as most learners carry a backpack from class to class.
Reporting an Absence
I wanted to make sure to share this update before the first day of school as this is only the second year we have followed this process for absences. This year we will be using an online form, similar to last year. Please use this link HERE or scan the QR code to put in an absence for your learner. Please note that a parent email is required! Any absence request coming from a student account will not be processed. We will have this form located on our weekly newsletters as well as on our webpage. Please bookmark and save on your phone for easy access as we will no longer be accepting phone calls related to absences. Thank you for you time and attention to this matter!

Additionally, we will be implementing a new schedule change process for the 26-27 academic year. Students should review their schedules in Infinite Campus after August 17th, once they are posted. To request a change, students should complete the schedule change form by midnight on August 26th: https://forms.gle/LRyH39b6BZF8T1R46.
Updated schedules will be visible in Infinite Campus once the change(s) has/have been made. If students do not see their requested updates, they can connect with their counselor during the drop-in schedule change times on Tuesday, August 18th from 9:00 am-2:00 pm and Wednesday, August 26th from 3:00-5:00 pm.
Please understand, schedule changes will be limited due to course availability and class sizes.
All academic change requests must be completed prior to the start of the trimester. A great deal of time and effort is put forth to schedule students in the classes that they and their parents request during the registration process. Therefore, all schedule change requests must be for educational reasons only.
We look forward to connecting with you when we return in a few weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your summer,
FHS Counseling Department
