Hi Creekside Families! This is Dana Rhinehart, principal at CES with a few announcements.

It's going to be a busy week! Full Moon, Red Ribbon Week, Holiday and make-up pictures, Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and Halloween! Listen up for important details.

We kick off Real Heroes Stay Drug-Free Monday with Dress as your favorite home team hero. Wear your favorite team colors.

Tuesday is Everyday Hero Day. Dress as an everyday hero.

Wednesday is Red Out. Wear Red. Wednesday is also fall make-up pics and holiday pics. We can take sibling pics. Just let teachers know what you need.

Thursday is Overall Hero. Wear overalls.

Pumpkins are due in the library for our Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Thursday. Remember, no carved pumpkins.

Friday is Superheroes Unite! Say Boo to drugs and wear your favorite costume. Remember:

  • No face paint
  • Costumes must meet dress code
  • Appropriate shoes are required
  • No accessories that could be used as weapons are allowed
  • No SCARY costumes!!!

We are continuing to have issues with student behavior on buses. This is a BIG safety issue. PLEASE talk to your child about bus behavior. Bus videos give me huge anxiety because behaviors cause distractions that could lead to accidents.

CES teachers, students, and staff are working hard every day and we are so proud of the teaching and learning that is happening!

It's going to be a GREAT week at the CREEK!

Hello Creekside Families!

I've missed seeing your children's smiling faces and cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow morning! I hope you all had a great fall break!

If your child ever rides a bus, please take the time to talk to them about good bus behavior. It is WILD! I cringe every time I see bus video. Our bus drivers are heroes for doing this job every day. We simply want to get every child home safely. No driver should spend time directing students to behave. We simply need them to sit with their backs against the back of the seat, as if they were buckled in with seatbelts. There should be no food, drinks, or toys out. There should be no throwing of anything, climbing across seats, etc. Please help us make our bus routes safer with great behavior on buses.

It's time for our annual pumpkin decorating contest. See Mrs. Norton's post for details. This is always one of my favorite activities as we see students create their favorite book characters with pumpkins.

We look forward to seeing your well-rested and smiling faces in the morning!

Hey Creekside Families! This is Dana Rhinehart with a few announcements.

This is a BIG week at the Creek!

Tuesday at 4:45 we have a PTO meeting in the cafeteria. Following a short meeting, our 3rd grade teachers will be presenting the 411 on all the info needed for 3rd grade. Our reading specialist, Mrs. Lauren McKleroy will be providing updates and answering questions concerning the Alabama Literacy Act. If you are a 3rd grade parent, you don't want to miss Tuesday evening's meeting. We want you to understand not on the Literacy Act, but more importantly, how you can support your student during this incredible year of learning. Our goal is to reduce your stress, so that you can enjoy seeing your child develop into a phenomenal reader and mathematician.

Creekside Boosterthon Kicks off Thursday, August 27th! Registration is open. Follow the Creekside PTO for all the info. The Fun Run is Friday, September 4th! This is our only big fundraiser of the year and we are counting on families to help us meet our goals to help with outdoor classrooms, library enhancements, and other classroom needs!

August 9, 2026

Hello Creekside Families! I hope you're all rested up after the first couple of days of school.

Please make sure you turn in free/reduced lunch applications, student information sheets, attendance policy acknowledgement, and other paperwork as soon as possible.

Car Line- Elementary car line begins at 7:10. ALL cars must enter on the new road that is south of the main entrance. PLEASE do not enter through the main entrance and try to cut through the line. This is a big safety concern.

Breakfast is free to all students again this year. Remind students that if they are eating breakfast at school, they need to go straight to the cafeteria when they arrive on campus. If your child is a car rider and you would like for them to eat breakfast at school, please arrive before 7:20.

It's going to be a GREAT week at the Creek! We can't wait to see you in the morning!
