Irving Families,
Monday marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. Beginning on September 15th, our students will learn about different foods, traditions, and cultural contributions. Below you’ll find a calendar highlighting the topics we’ll cover each day.
We are also launching our first PBIS Booster of the year with a focus on empathy and inclusion. This week is a national call-to-action week dedicated to these topics. In connection with The Sandy Hook Promise’s Start with Hello program, we’ll celebrate with a week of activities highlighting empathy, friendship, and inclusion. Each day has a special theme, which is outlined in the flyer below.
Our PTO is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday at Slice Factory. Please see the flyer below for more details.
We recently welcomed the Class of 1975 back to Irving. They generously donated $2,100 to the school. Alumni spoke fondly about their educational experiences here and shared an interesting fact: Irving’s mascot used to be a Wildcat!
Finally, on Friday we conducted our first practice fire drill of the year. The students did a great job staying quiet and following directions. Our next fire drill is scheduled for Friday, September 26th, with the Berwyn Fire Department.
