Happy Friday!
Dear HMS Families,
This has been amazing week! The picture we added for the week is of our students winning their first football game this year, our girls cross country team who tied for first place this week in their race, and our boys cross country team who placed first this week in their race. Volleyball has their first game next week on Monday! We are so proud of our student athletes and all of our students here at HMS.
Next week we begin ASB campaigning for those students who are choosing to run for a position representing their grade level. Each grade level will elect have three representatives as part of ASB. We are really excited because we have so many candidates running - 15!
We are excited to cheer on the Hawks tonight at HHS for their first home game! If you see us, please stop by and say hello! We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
With Kindness,
Bess & Sid
Please help us welcome Logan Klodt!
We are excited to have Logan Klodt join our HMS team teaching science and woodshop this year!
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I have three years of teaching experience with a background in STEM and construction. I’m excited to join the staff at Hockinson Middle School after having a memorable summer. I got married this July and my wife and I enjoy gardening and taking care of our chickens and pets.
What brought you to Hockinson?
I was a Hornet myself and graduated from Hockinson in 2016 and attended Central Washington University. I have been teaching the past three years in Battle Ground School District and I’m happy to be back in Hockinson to teach science and continue the woodshop program for all three grade levels at HMS.
What teacher inspired you throughout your educational journey? Why?
Mr. Kramer inspired my love for science at Hockinson Elementary and Mr. Wisely at HMS showed me how being a teacher can make a difference in the lives of students.
What are you looking forward to the most this year?
HMS has an incredible staff and I’m looking forward to working with them as well as being able to help students gain valuable trade and career skills with our woodshop classes.
First Annual Homecoming Parade!
We are really excited to be able to watch and have our leadership students participate in Hockinson High School's FIRST annual homecoming parade! A Message from HHS about World Language Testing
We are excited to offer world language testing to students to provide them with an opportunity to earn high school credit by demonstrating fluency in reading, writing, speaking and listening in a language other than English. Students who are literate in a language other than English may be able to earn four (4) high school credits through testing.
