It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids

It has been an exciting week at Blue Rapids Elementary. On Wednesday, the students welcomed their families into the building for the annual Thanksgiving feast. Thank you to everyone who went above and beyond to make the Thanksgiving meal a blessed time for the students and their families. I have received many positive comments that is was a blessed time of food and fellowship.

This week was a very special week for Valley Heights Elementary School as Mrs. deBoer and I accepted the National Blue Ribbon Award in Washington D.C. I cannot express how proud I am of our students and staff and feel so humbled to be able to accept the National Blue Ribbon award on their behalf.

Next week is Thanksgiving, which means we will only have two days of school and be off school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving break. Words cannot express how thankful I am for the amazing families, students, staff and community support that we receive at Blue Rapids Elementary School. Thank you all, and I pray you have a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving break full of love and memories with friends and family.

Positive Office Referrals Positive Office Referrals

Value Honor Success

Each day in the elementary schools, we teach our students how to have purposeful interactions and goals. We believe that having a common purpose will promote the academic and social emotional well-being of each student. We teach students the VHS model.

To celebrate students accomplishing these things, we have created positive office referrals, with VHS tickets. Teachers and staff hand out VHS tickets when they see a student doing the right thing. Here are some pictures of students receiving their VHS tickets!
