Greetings to our GT Families!
Welcome to the November edition of Celebrating Gifted! As we head into the season of gratitude, we are thrilled to share the remarkable creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking our GT students have been demonstrating across Fort Bend ISD. From hands-on campus projects to enriching community learning experiences, our learners continue to explore new ideas and reach their full potential. Innovation Hour π΅π π’
Across the district, students are participating in Innovation Hour, a program designed to foster innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Students have already been introduced to the 6Ps of Innovation Hour and have successfully pitched their project ideas. Throughout November, students will be focused on developing and completing their projects. For additional details on Innovation Hour, please visit the GT department website or reach out to your campus COGS contact. The deadline for students to complete their projects is February 27, 2027.
TPSP in Fort Bend ISD π΅π π’
Our GT students have moved into the project phase of the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) following planning sessions with their teachers during October, and we're excited to see their research unfold over the coming months. It is critical to stress that for students in grades 1-8, TPSP is fundamentally a school-based research project, meaning the majority of the work is expected to be completed in a school setting rather than at home. Meanwhile, TPSP remains an optional opportunity for students in grades 9-12, and GT teachers will offer support for their projects outside of regular instructional time. We are already looking forward to the culmination of all this hard work at the campus showcases this spring, and parents should plan to check their respective campus web pages in early spring to find the specific presentation dates. All TPSP projects must be completed by February 27, 2027.
