Superintendent Message
Dear Panther Families,
It has been a productive April at Redford Union. Following a refreshing Spring Break, our students returned with the energy needed to tackle the final chapters of the school year. During National Volunteer Week, we celebrated the dedicated parents and community members whose support remains the backbone of our classrooms and extracurricular programs.
We also took time this month to honor our planet and our future. Through Earth Day activities, students explored sustainability and the global impact of local stewardship. Simultaneously, in honor of Financial Literacy Month, our educators integrated vital lessons on budgeting and saving to help students build the fiscal confidence they’ll need for adulthood.
As we head into the home stretch, let’s work together to maintain our momentum. We appreciate your continued partnership in prioritizing attendance and academic rigor so our Panthers can finish the year strong. Thank you for being an integral part of the Redford Union family—it’s Where U Belong!
Go Panthers!

Beech Elementary
Isibindi House Gives Back to Community
In honor of National Volunteer Week, members of the Isibindi House at Beech Elementary put their "House of Courage" spirit into action by creating Community Care Bags for local shelters. These kits were thoughtfully packed with essential hygiene items, non-perishable snacks and personalized notes of kindness from our students.
These care bags are more than just supplies - they are a tangible reminder to our neighbors in need that they are seen, valued and supported. By providing nourishment and comfort, our students demonstrated that true courage is found in the simple, selfless act of helping others. We are incredibly proud of these young leaders for stepping up to serve their community and exemplifying the heart of a true Panther.
Beech House Competition
The gym was alive with the sound of students cheering for their teammates, proving that the strongest victories come from working together. Our staff had a fantastic time fostering this friendly competition and watching students lead with heart. A huge thank you to the organizers who brought these activities to life. It was a blast for everyone involved!
Hilbert Elementary
Hilbert Celebrates Earth Day
Our Hilbert students celebrated Earth Day with a blend of action and inspiration! From the classroom to the playground, our students stepped up to honor our planet.
Our 6th graders took a guided walk around the campus, engaging in thought-provoking discussions about human impact and the environmental factors that help or hurt the Earth. In addition, several classes across grade levels rolled up their sleeves to clear litter from the playground, turning a simple task into a powerful lesson on pollution and personal responsibility.
These hands-on activities sparked great questions and instilled a lasting commitment to taking care of our surroundings. A huge thank you to our teachers for organizing these events, and to our students for being such dedicated stewards of the Earth!
Hilbert House Competition
The gym was electric this week as students gathered for Hilbert's high-energy House Competition. The walls shook with cheering and clapping as members from each House went head-to-head in a series of thrilling challenges, including a high-stakes Bean Bag Relay, the chaotic fun of Noodle Wars, and a life-sized round of Hungry, Hungry Hippo!
A huge congratulations to all the students who brought their competitive spirit and sportsmanship to the floor. We also want to extend a special thank you to the teachers who organized and cheered alongside us—as your hard work made this event a smashing success.

Scoops of Support: Hope Squad Visits ASD Classrooms
Our RUJH Hope Squad recently spent a wonderful afternoon spreading joy and awareness within our ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classrooms. To show their support for our students, Hope Squad members served up delicious ice cream treats and passed out vibrant stickers and bracelets.
This heart-warming event was more than just a sweet snack, it was a meaningful way to foster inclusion and raise awareness about autism within our school community. We are incredibly proud of our Hope Squad for their leadership and for ensuring every student feels seen, supported and celebrated. Way to go, Hope Squad!
