Headteacher's Bulletin
03/10/25 - Edition 72

Highlights of the week
Mr Lisseman - Headteacher
Dear Parents & Carers,
It’s been a fantastic week in school. We welcomed 500+ visitors to our Open Evening and showed 50 families around at our Open Morning – a real showcase of our brilliant students and staff. Our Macmillan Coffee Morning raised an amazing £513, and our SEND coffee morning with ADHD Embrace gave families a great chance to connect. Students also enjoyed a maths trip to Brooklands Academy, where they even heard from Professor Brian Cox.
We’d also like to thank parents for the vital role you play in supporting the school. The partnership between school, parents and students is incredibly powerful. As part of this, we ask that our behaviour policy is always respected. It is applied consistently and compassionately, but detentions and sanctions are not optional and must be followed through unless there is an exceptional reason.
Similarly, students should attend in full school uniform, without jewellery, and with hair of a natural colour and conventional style. Thank you for helping us uphold high standards so that all students can thrive.
Student Bulletin
Each Monday morning in tutor time, students and their form tutors review the weekly student bulletin. This is a round up of all the important information, notices and reminders that they need to know. The bulletin is also posted on the screens around school so they can refer back to it at any time.
Flu Vaccine - 2 December
NHS Immunisation team
The Richmond Immunisation Team will be visiting Twickenham School on 2 December to offer the Flu vaccine to all students.
Your child will be offered the live nasal flu spray or the injectable porcine-free flu vaccine. The nasal spray vaccine is a quick and simple spray up each nostril. Alternatively, you can choose for your child to have the injectable porcine-free vaccine. This is given as an injection into the upper muscle of the arm.
Please ensure you complete the consent form, even if you choose not to vaccinate your child this year.
Thank you to our Open Evening Student Helpers
Ms Smalley - Assistant Headteacher
A huge thank you to all our amazing student helpers who gave their time and energy to support Open Evening. From guiding families around the school, speaking confidently about your subjects, helping in departments, and sharing your own experiences, you showed the very best of what our school community has to offer.
We have received brilliant feedback from visiting families, who were so impressed by your enthusiasm, kindness, and knowledge. Many commented on how welcoming you made them feel and how much they enjoyed hearing directly from our students.
You should all feel incredibly proud of yourselves—we certainly are. You represented the school with maturity and positivity, and we are so grateful for everything you did to make the evening such a success.
