Welcome Back, Fairfax!
Long Newsletter Alert 🚨 Please Read 📖 Lots of Important Information 📄
Welcome Back Fairfax Families,
We hope you had a relaxing and fun-filled spring break! As we return to school, we want to highlight a few important updates and reminders for the week ahead.
🏫 Attendance Matters
We have approximately 40 school days left in the year, and every minute counts! Did you know that attendance directly impacts our school’s state report card? Even arriving just 5 minutes late each day adds up to lost instructional time and counts against us. Good news! Compared to this time last year, our attendance has improved—even with the illnesses we've experienced this year. Thank you, families, for all your efforts! Please continue helping us by:
-
Getting your child to school on time
-
Keeping them in school all day (when possible)
Your partnership is crucial in helping us finish the year strong.
📝 Ohio State Testing (Grades 3–5) Begins Next Week
Students in grades 3–5 will begin state testing next week. Here’s how you can help:
-
Make sure your child gets a good night's rest
-
Ensure they eat a healthy breakfast
-
Have them arrive at school on time
📅 Testing Schedule:
-
Tuesday, April 15: ELA Part I (Grades 3–5)
-
Thursday, April 17: ELA Part II (Grades 3–5)
-
Tuesday, April 22: Math Part I (Grades 4–5)
-
Thursday, April 24: Math Part II (Grades 4–5)
-
Tuesday, April 29: Math Part I (Grade 3) & Science Part I (Grade 5)
-
Thursday, May 1: Math Part II (Grade 3) & Science Part II (Grade 5)
For our K–2 students, we need their help supporting the OST! They will be our “Super Silent Superheroes” during testing times. If they stay quiet and focused while others test, they will earn a special superhero sticker each day of state testing. Let’s show our school-wide support!
🧪 The Magic of Science is Coming to Fairfax!
We’re excited to welcome The Magic of Science assembly to Fairfax! Students will experience an engaging, high-energy show that combines science experiments with a touch of magic to spark curiosity and wonder. It’s a fun and educational event your child won’t want to miss!
