Meaux Elementary Monthly News
November 2024 🦃
Please note the following change in the November Calendar. APEX Run day has been moved to Wednesday, November 20th. We hope you will join us for your child's scheduled run time to cheer them on.
November is Family Literacy Month
Make plans to join us on Friday, November 22nd for a special Fall into Reading Event. This event will take place on our school playground (weather permitting) at the specified grade level times. Parents/guardians are invited to share a favorite book or two. Students can invite two adult guests to join them. Guests may join students during their designated time. Guests attending both sessions will be required to leave and return for the second session.

Congratulations to Mrs. Erin Segura, 5th grade teacher on being named as the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year at Meaux Elementary. Mrs. Erin, as she is known by students and staff, has been a teacher for 24 years, having taught at Eaton Park, LeBlanc and Meaux Elementary.

November Meaux Model Students
November Meaux Model Students were made known at a school assembly on Friday, November 1st. Our PBIS schoolwide discipline model recognizes students (one from each homeroom) each month who have exhibited the qualities of an outstanding student. These students will have a special Parent lunch on Thursday, November 21st. Congratulations, students!
5th Grade Big Buddy Program
This year at Meaux, our 1st-grade students have been paired with a 5th-grade Big Buddy for some planned fun activities throughout the school year. In recognition of Literacy Month, students chose to share their favorite book to read to each other. Students met their Big Buddy on the playground for a special reading time. Pictured below are some of the students. Students look forward to the next time they can be together to make holiday crafts.
