CoyoteConnectionWeekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 10/24/2025

Dear Families,

This week, we had many fun events on campus. Our TK and Kindergarten students had the opportunity to attend an assembly with the Escondido Fire Department. They learned all about what to do in the case of a fire and who to call if there is an emergency. They also got to learn all about a firefighter’s uniform and the fire truck! This morning, we got to award our top earners from the Bubble Run and choose our Principal for the Day, who will be first grader Damian Self. The students even got to choose my outfit and mode of transportation for the day! It was a great day, with a lot of laughs as I biked around campus visiting students and staff.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our Boo Bash event tonight! Our PTA has gone above and beyond this year to make this event a success, and I can't thank them enough for their efforts.

Here's what's coming up:

Red Ribbon Week:

Red Ribbon Week is October 27th-October 31st. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign in the United States. Millions of people participate in this week-long event that takes place during the last week of October. During this time, people participate in anti-drug events designed to educate youth about the dangers of drugs. Here at Reidy Creek, students will be exposed to age-appropriate content regarding how to live a healthy and drug-free life, as well as complete activities with their buddy classes around this topic. We'll also have a school-wide assembly with "Go Big BMX Show" on Monday to kick off the week!

Here are the spirit days next week to celebrate Red Ribbon Week:

Monday: Wear Red

Tuesday: Wear Athletic Clothing

Wednesday: Wear Bright Clothes

Thursday: Wear Jeans

Friday: Wear Your Costume

Halloween Parade:

Here is some information regarding our Halloween Parade on Friday morning:

Costume Guidelines for Students:

  • On Friday, students should come dressed in their costumes and bring a change of clothes in their backpacks.

  • Students should wear the simplest form of their costume (no makeup or limited makeup).

  • Students cannot bring weapons, and their costumes cannot be too gruesome.

  • At 8:15, students will have the opportunity to go to the blacktop with their classes and participate in a school-wide parade. Following the parade, students will go back to their classrooms.

Parents are welcome to attend. We will take pictures in case you aren't able to come.

Parent Enabling Conditions Survey Parent Enabling Conditions Survey

We invite you to take a few moments to complete the Enabling Conditions Survey, a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of our school community.

Your feedback provides essential data on key aspects of our learning environment. This information allows us to analyze strengths and areas for growth, develop a focused action plan, and track how well that plan supports student success over time. The survey offers side-by-side data comparisons that give us a clear picture of what’s working and where we can improve.

Together, we can ensure every student has the best environment to thrive. Thank you for being a vital part of this important process!
