Hendrickson High School Unified Champions is hosting our 2nd Annual Fun Run & Roll Fundraiser on Saturday, April 11th at 10:00am. It is a short "obstacle" type fun run, walk, or roll. Appropriate for all ages and abilities! Attached is a flyer and sign up link!
Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Timmerman Elementary School for a morning filled with helpful information, resources, and tools designed to support your child’s success.
The 2026 PfISD Parent and Family Engagement Conference will offer helpful informational sessions on school safety, special education, local public library resources, and networking opportunities with other parents in the district. Please see the attachment for details regarding the MES Talent Show, which is open to 4th-5th graders. Auditions will be taking place on May 4-6 during school hours, and then the talent show itself will take place on Thursday, May 14, during school hours for students, plus in the evening from 6-7pm for family/friends. This TS BLURB, as well as the TS REGISTRATION/PERMISSION FORM should have all the details you need, but if you have other questions after reading, don't hesitate to reach out.
STAAR testing begins next week. On days when your child is taking the STAAR test, you will not be able to eat lunch with them. I have listed the testing dates below as well as changes that will effect 5th grade lunch on April 15 and April 29.
Lunch Time Changes for April 15 and April 29:
- 5th grade will eat lunch from 11:35-12:05 on these two days
- 3rd grade will eat lunch from 12:45-1:15 on these two days. However, since students are testing on these days, please plan not to eat lunch with your 3rd grader on these days.
STAAR Testing Dates:
- April 14 -- 5th grade RLA
- April 15 -- 3rd and 4th grade RLA
- April 16-17 -- RLA Make-ups
- April 21 -- 5th grade Science
- April 22-24 -- Science Make-ups
- April 28 -- 5th grade Math
- April 29 -- 3rd and 4th grade Math
- April 30-May 1 -- STAAR Make-ups
We also will not be able to have volunteers upstairs on STAAR testing days. We can still have visitors and volunteers downstairs, as long as it is not in a grade level that is testing that day. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
3rd - 5th grade students are invited to perform in the Saturday Silver Dancer Spring Show! May 2nd from 10am-12pm we will host a clinic to teach the routine they will perform later that evening. The show starts at 7pm and we ask that clinic performers arrive by 6:30pm. More details can be found at the link below!
Data from state assessments will be available in the Family Portal on the following dates:
• STAAR Grades 3–8 assessments: June 16, 2026
• STAAR Alternate 2: June 24, 2026
• TELPAS: June 11, 2026
I will send an email when they are posted, along with directions for how to access them but I know some of you might want to mark your calendars now!
As we wrap up Gifted Students Week, I wanted to let you know about our Gifted and Talented Showcase next month! The Showcase will be at the Murchison Cafeteria on May 8 at 8:30 am. If you have a child in the GT program, I hope you will be able to attend!

All STAAR tests for students in grades 3-5 are administered online. If your child wants to use a mouse with their Chromebook for the STAAR test, only a wired mouse will work for that particular test. Feel free to send your child with a wired mouse on their testing day if they prefer to have one.
