Generals Shine In State Track & Field Meet
Dills Places 2nd In Pole Vault
Talley Places 3rd In 1600
Robison Places 4th In 1600
Page Places 5th In Shot Put
The 12 Heritage Track & Field athletes that went to the state track meet competed their tails off!! It was a phenomenal way to end the season! Congratulations once again to Paula Moser who set our school record in the 200m for the 3rd time this season running a 26.03 second time! We really appreciate the support that the faculty and staff have given the track & field teams all season long. A HUGE thank you goes to those who came to the gym lobby Wednesday morning for an amazing "send off" in support of our team members. The last few days were an awesome capstone to the season!
Boys 4x800m relay of Andrew Wynne, Connor Stephenson, Caden Cook and Gunnar Cornwell had to overcome being tripped at the baton exchange to finish in 16th place
Gerald Page finished 6th in Shot Put.
Landon Talley finished 4th in the 1600m and 6th in the 3200m in the same day at the state meet! Both races were ridiculously fast!
Eli Thacker finished 15th in long jump in a very talented field of jumpers.
Evie Robison finished 5th in the 1600m whiled battling a rib injury all season that prevents her from breathing normally.
Hope Alsobrooks finished in 13th in the 300m hurdles as a freshman!
Ashley Hamilton finished in 15th in the 300m hurdles in a very fast race!
Paula Moser finished 12th in the 200m and set our school record time of 26.03! She also finished 9th in long jump at the state meet. She was only an inch away from being on the podium!
Addi Dills finished as runner up in the pole vault after a valiant attempt at a new school record of 10' that had us go from totally elated to crushed (emotionally) when the bar bounced one too many times and came down on her. She cleared 9'6" which is her own school record.
Lady Generals Golf Team Finishes 8th In State
The Lady Generals travelled to LaGrange to compete in the two-day state championship and boy did they give it their all. Between the heat, the early mornings and you know driving 3 hours home to graduate and then driving back the same day to compete again these girls put everything they had into it. As a team they finished in 8th by one stroke behind LaFayette.
Individually, junior Cam Carter finished 17th overall, sophomore Isabel Shrader finished 23rd and senior Jules Harbort finished 37th. Senior Laney Williams played Tuesday but because she didn't compete on Monday she was not ranked but she did post one of her best scores of her career. Go Generals!!

Summer Reading
We are excited to post the 2026 Summer Reading lists for Honors and AP English. A guided summer reading program gives students a chance to build a much needed reading repertoire that will serve them in many ways throughout high school and into college. To take full advantage of summer reading, students should join the Google Classroom assigned to their grade/class, choose books that appeal to them, and read thoughtfully and thoroughly in order to be successful on summer assignments and during class discussions. Reading lists, assignments, due dates, and Google Classroom codes can be found on this Summer Reading Google site. Please ask your teacher if you need further information or would like advice about a book to read.
Happy Reading

Continuing Smart Tech Habits With Your Student
School Safety Is A Priority
Parents, please help your students understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings. Please encourage your child to say something if they see or hear something that sounds un-safe or potentially dangerous. A courageous student willing to report something suspicious can make all the difference. This is something they should practice inside and outside of school to ensure their safety.
Everyone Is Responsible For School Safety
Students who see or hear something suspicious have many options when it comes to reporting what they see. Make sure they know they can report to an administrator, a teacher, a school counselor, or an adult they trust. They can also text hello to 741-741. Leaders cannot act on information they don't have so please encourage your student report what they see and hear if it is suspicious or dangerous. We're better together!
Counselors Corner
If your student needs support, please have them connect with one of our counselors. They serve students based on the student's last name. See below to find the contact information for your child's counselor.
