New Online Absence Reporting Option Begins January 26

Starting January 26, families will have a new, convenient way to report student absences online using the Infinite Campus app or website. While this is currently optional for now, it’s designed to make absence reporting easier and help support regular attendance for all Shorewood students.

Through Infinite Campus, families can report:

  • Full-day absences

  • Late arrivals

  • Early dismissals

  • Parent-excused or medically exempt absences

For medically exempt absences, documentation is still required and can be submitted directly to your child’s school.

To learn more about reporting student absences through the Infinite Campus website, please click here for a brief introduction or here for a video. The Campus Parent (Infinite Campus app) is available both on the Apple and Google Play stores. If you need help with accessing Infinite Campus, please contact Iris Bohan at ibohan@shorewood.k12.wi.us for assistance.

Host an Exchange Student… or Become an Exchange Student with AFS!

AFS-USA is offering incredible opportunities for students and families at Shorewood High School to host an exchange student and/or study abroad this year!

For decades, families from Shorewood High School have signed up with AFS to welcome international exchange students from all across the world into our school. By signing up to host, you can give a student from another part of the world the experience of a lifetime and give your family the opportunity to learn about the world and build a meaningful intercultural connection! AFS is looking for host families for the 2026-2027 school year. In order to host, all you need to provide is a bed, three meals a day, transportation to/from school and related activities, and an open heart! Local volunteers will help you choose a student and support you during the entire exchange experience. Check out afsusa.org/host to learn more!

Thinking of studying abroad yourself? AFS offers summer, semester, and academic year programs in more than 40 countries! Become immersed in the culture, customs, language, and cuisine of another country, and learn a lot about yourself as well. And don't let the cost discourage you! Through the generosity of our national AFS family of supporters, AFS-USA was able to provide more than $1M in scholarships and aid last year alone! Apply for a summer exchange with AFS before March 5 to be considered for a scholarship! Go to afsusa.org/studyabroad and get connected to volunteers and returnees to learn more!

Meet two of the incredible students you could host at Shorewood next fall:

Maria, a 15-year-old girl from Spain is a talkative student who loves being part of a group, dancing, going to the gym, music, fashion, and spending time with friends and family. She wants to share her big-city Spanish cooking skills with her host family.

Leander, a 16-year-old boy from Germany is a friendly hockey player who enjoys participating in school council. He likes school and even programmed a small robot in his computer science class recently. He is excited for family dinners in America!

Please visit www.afsusa.org to learn more about AFS or contact local AFS Wisconsin Rep, Erica Ness at eness@afsusa.org & 262-445-0856. Erica is happy to answer any questions via email, phone, or text!

The mission of the Shorewood High School professional school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. Our goal is to address the needs of the "whole child," helping students build a foundation of good decision-making skills that serve the student into adulthood. These goals are addressed through the partnership of counselors with other educators, families, students, and the community.

The counselors have begun Academic and Career Planning (ACP) conferences with junior students and their families. These conferences provide an opportunity to discuss post-secondary plans and answer questions about next steps after high school, including college options, admissions criteria, testing, essays, timelines, Naviance, and other helpful resources.

ACP conferences are 60-minute, in-person meetings with the student, family, and school counselor. Conferences are scheduled during the school day using SignUpGenius, so please coordinate with your student to find a time that works.

Please use the links below to sign up if you haven’t already:

Scott Brown (Last names G-O): Link to Mr. Brown's calendar

March 10 - ACT for JUNIORS ONLY

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Shorewood High School juniors, in accordance with the state of Wisconsin state mandate, will participate in the required ACT plus writing test to be administered by a student’s high school of attendance. Our goal is to provide our 11th grade students with the best environment possible for success on this important test. The results of this assessment will be used by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as part of Shorewood High School’s Annual School Report Card. Additionally, Wisconsin high schools will be certified as ACT state testing sites. Scores from the administration of the ACT with writing can be used by students for a variety of purposes including college admission, scholarships, course placement, and NCAA eligibility.

Please remember that on Tuesday, March 10th ONLY JUNIORS are required to attend school. There is NO SCHOOL for freshmen, sophomores, or seniors on Tuesday, March 10th. Freshmen, sophomore, and senior students should not be on campus on this day. This will allow juniors to take their ACT test in small groups in classrooms and with multiple teacher proctors. Only having juniors in attendance will also help ensure that a distraction free testing environment exists. Juniors should arrive for testing at 8:00 AM and will be dismissed from school at the conclusion of testing at approximately 12:35 PM (students testing with approved accommodations may have altered schedules for testing and will be notified individually).

Attention 9th and 10th grade students and families -
