Our wonderful Year 6’s are back safe and sound after another fantastic few days at Forest Edge in Waroona. I am very pleased to report that students were very well behaved, and actively participated and supported one another during activities and challenges. Their behaviour and enthusiasm not only made the experience enjoyable for everyone involved, but also reflected the strong partnership between home and school. Thank you to our parents for your ongoing support in nurturing these values, and to our dedicated staff whose guidance and care ensured such a successful and memorable experience for all.

The Year 6 school camp is an important part of a child’s overall education, providing opportunities that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom. In a safe and largely unplugged environment, children develop independence, resilience and confidence as they step outside their usual routines. Through shared outdoor challenges and new experiences, they strengthen social skills, practise teamwork and build deeper friendships. Time away from home also encourages responsibility and personal growth, supporting their overall emotional wellbeing and leaving them with some great memories.

Thank you to parents for your trust and partnership in allowing your child to take part in this experience. Your encouragement and calm confidence helps your child approach camp with a positive mindset and an openness to growth.

I sincerely acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of our staff. School camps require significant planning, preparation and care, often extending well beyond the school day. Their commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, supported and included is what makes these experiences so successful and meaningful for all involved.

Next week is Wellness Week and we have plenty of activities planned across the school. More information will be shared next week.

As we head into the long weekend, I hope it brings your family the gift of unhurried time together - whether that’s a simple sleep-in, a shared meal, a visit with friends, or a quiet moment to recharge. May it be a chance to step away from the busyness of routines and return refreshed, ready for the weeks ahead. Wishing all our families a safe, restful and happy long weekend.

Take care and best wishes

Geordie

In the Catholic tradition, our parish and school are closely connected.

The parish, led by Father Giovanni, provides spiritual leadership and is responsible for ensuring we nurture students’ faith alongside academic learning. The school supports the parish by helping children grow in Catholic values, preparing them for sacraments, and encouraging family participation in parish life.

It’s essentially a partnership — the parish is the faith community, and the school is one of its key ministries. For more information about our Parish, please click here:
