π Let's Get in the Mood to Spread Some Love π
Dear Chamber Friends,
Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love in all its forms - including the love we have for our businesses and communities. Here at the Chamber, we believe that fostering strong connections and relationships within our business community is essential for growth and prosperity.
So, let's reflect on the ways we can spread love within our businesses and communities not just today, but everyday:
- Support Local Businesses: Show your love for your fellow Chamber members by shopping local and supporting small businesses in our community. Whether it's purchasing goods and services or collaborating on projects, let's continue to lift each other up.
- Engage with the Community: Strengthen the bond between your business and the community by getting involved in local events, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities. By demonstrating your commitment to making a positive impact, you'll not only enhance your brand reputation but also contribute to the well-being of your community.
- Collaborate and Network: Love thrives in collaboration, so let's seize opportunities to connect with fellow Chamber members, exchange ideas, and explore potential partnerships. A great way to get connected is by attending chamber luncheons, chamber night out, and participating in other chamber events throughout the year. Together, we can achieve more and create a thriving business environment.
- Express Gratitude: Take this opportunity to express gratitude to your customers, employees, and fellow business owners. A heartfelt thank you goes a long way in strengthening relationships and fostering loyalty.
- Spread Positivity: In a world where negativity often dominates headlines, let's be beacons of positivity within our community. Share uplifting stories, offer words of encouragement, and celebrate the achievements of those around us.
As we celebrate Valentine's Day let's remember that love is not only about romance but also about the connections we forge and the impact we make in our businesses and communities. Together, let's continue to spread love - in all its forms.
Wishing you all a (belated) Happy Valentine's Day!
Warm regards,
Shanna Wolf

In the Spring of 2023, the Minnesota legislature passed a series of laws providing new and expanded benefits to employees of Minnesota businesses. In this session, theyβll provide an easy-to-understand guide to these new benefits with a focus on Earned Sick and Safe Time (MN Statute 181.9445- 181.9448) which took effect January 1, 2024.
Even if youβre currently offering paid leave benefits, all Minnesota employers will likely need to provide new employee notifications and make some adjustments to current pay practices.
If you are not currently offering paid benefits, learn how to make the right choices of available compliance options. Donβt be caught uninformed and avoid potential penalties for non-compliance!
This workshop will be hosted by Rovena Claxton of North Shore HR Consulting and Curt Walczak of the Northland Small Business Development Center (SBDC). North Shore HR Consulting was founded in 2019 and provides expert human resource consulting services to local, regional, and national employers. MS. Claxton has in-depth experience in the implementation of other sick leave ordinances in Minnesota municipalities and has been with the Northland Foundation since 2020.
