Warrior Connection - March 8
March 8

Principal’s Note
We are already at the halfway point of the semester, with the end of the third quarter coming up on March 12. This week is also Parent-Teacher Conference week, which is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress as we head into the final part of the semester.
On Thursday, March 12, West Minico will have a two-hour early release, and students will be dismissed at 1:45 PM. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held Thursday evening from 4:00–8:00 PM and again on Friday, March 13 from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. We look forward to having you come visit with your child’s teachers and learn more about how they are doing in their classes.
Please note that Warrior Wellness will not take place on Thursday, March 12 due to the early release schedule.
A quick reminder that the deadline for purchasing yearbooks is quickly approaching. If you are unsure whether you purchased a yearbook at the beginning of the year, please feel free to call the office and ask to speak with Shelli, and she will be happy to check for you.
Thank you for your continued support of West Minico and our students.

Wellness Break
This spring we have implemented a Wellness Break during the afternoon to give students and staff a short opportunity to get up and move. Each day the entire school takes about 7–10 minutes to walk and reset before returning to class. When the weather is nice, you may see students and staff walking the perimeter of the school, and when weather does not permit, we walk inside the building. Our afternoons at middle school are long, and this short break allows everyone to stretch, get some physical activity, and enjoy a few minutes of positive social interaction before finishing the day. Because of this change, 6th hour and advisory now begin slightly later in the afternoon. If you arrive to pick up your child during the walking time, we may ask you to wait briefly so your child can return to class and collect their belongings. Thank you for your support as we continue looking for ways to support student wellness and focus.
