East Update

As we wrap up the first quarter, we want to take a moment to celebrate the hard work and growth we’ve seen from our students and staff—it’s been a fantastic start to the school year!

Looking ahead, we’re excited for the many events and opportunities that will continue to bring our school community together. Thank you to our families for your continued support—it truly makes a difference. Let’s keep the momentum going as we move into a great second quarter!

Our character education program is built around the “Rocket R’s,” which focus on being Respectful, Responsible, and Resilient. Each quarter, students learn and practice these important traits. This week, one student from each class was recognized for demonstrating outstanding character throughout the first quarter.

Monday, October 20 - Celebrate Socktober! Help keep our friends without homes warm this winter by donating new socks (kids and adults). Boxes will be set up at all schools for collection and at the Unity Day event.

Tuesday, October 21 - Coins for Cancer! Drop your spare change into buckets to see which grade can raise the most money for cancer research. Boxes will be set up at all schools for collection and at the Unity Day event.

Wednesday, October 22- UNITY DAY! Wear and share ORANGE to show your support for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Join together from 3:30-5:00pm at the back of the Junior High/High School to participate in the 1-Mile Fun Run, purchase cold treats from the Sidney Dairy Barn Moo-Mobile, and enjoy the company of our Unit Seven family.

Thursday, October 23 - Compliment & Care: Show your care for those around you by giving a compliment, or demonstrating a random act of kindness. See how far one act of kindness can go!

More than a Day While Unity Day is just one day, it serves as a catalyst for our entire commUNITY to come together with a statement that our words and actions matter. Today, and every day, we stand against bullying and are committed to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion of all.

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Thursday, October 23, from 3:00-9:30pm. We hope that every parent can join us!

The East PTO is hosting their third annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 25, from 6:00-7:00pm, followed by a dance party from 7:00-7:30pm.

On Friday, November 7, Unity East will host our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon & Veterans Day Program.

All senior citizens and veterans are welcome to attend our luncheon at 12:05pm, followed by our Veterans Day Program at 1:00pm. Guests are encouraged to call the school to RSVP.

Join us for a magical evening of family fun on Thursday, Nov. 20!

This year’s theme is "magic and illusions," featuring optical illusion crafts, a live magic show, a free pizza dinner, and annual book fair.

Look for the flyer coming home next week with a RSVP slip at the bottom. We hope you can join us!

Unity East has received several generous donations we would like to recognize.
