Weekly Update to Families
March 13, 2026
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
As we wrap up another busy and successful week, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for the hard work and support that make our school community so strong.
Spring Break begins next week, and I hope this time provides everyone with an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend meaningful time with family and friends. Our students have been working incredibly hard, and this break is well deserved.
While you're enjoying the time off, I encourage everyone to stay safe and take advantage of the chance to relax and return refreshed for the final stretch of the school year. We have many exciting activities and learning opportunities ahead as we move toward the end of the semester.
Classes will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back ready for a great finish to the school year.
On behalf of our entire school staff, I wish all of our families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Spring Break!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Beverly

Following the Child: Honoring Individual Growth
“Following the child” is a foundational principle of Montessori education. It means carefully observing each child’s interests, abilities, and readiness, and then guiding learning based on where the child is developmentally.
In a Montessori classroom, lessons are offered at the right time, allowing children to work at their own pace and explore topics that spark curiosity. This respectful approach builds confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
By following the child, Montessori educators honor each learner as a unique individual and support growth that is both meaningful and lasting.
Staff Favorite Things 2025-26
From time to time, our amazing community likes to do special things for our amazing Goodwater staff. To make this treat a little easier for you; I have linked a list of their favorite things here. Thank you in advance for showing our staff just how very special they are.
Safety at Pick Up and Drop Off
Safety at Pick Up and Drop Off
We would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of safety during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Please remain patient and alert as you drive through our entrance and parking areas. Drive slowly, avoid distractions, and watch for children, staff, and other vehicles at all times.
Your attentiveness helps ensure that arrival and dismissal remain calm, efficient, and—most importantly—safe for our entire school community. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support in keeping Goodwater Montessori a safe and welcoming place for all.
Reminders:
Stay in your vehicle during dismissal. If your child needs help buckling in, please pull into a visitor parking spot at the front of the building.
Early student pickup ends at 2:30 PM.
Primary parents: Please remain in your vehicle during dismissal. Our staff will escort your child to your car.
Late arrivals: If you arrive after the bell, please park in front and walk your child into the building through the main entrance.
Toys: Please do not use toys or candy to encourage students to go to class. This causes a distraction in the classroom because other students want to have the candy and/or toys as well.
Water Bottles: All water bottles must have a lid. Please do not send students to school with water containers without a lid.
Arrival: Parents must unbuckle students. Staff are not responsible for unbuckling students.
Students going home with temperatures: Students going home from school early with a temperature must return 24 hours after being free from a temperature.
Birthdays - No sweets or cupcakes allowed on campus for birthdays.
Cell Phones- Please do not be on your cell phones during drop-off or pick-up. This is a safety violation. In Texas, it is illegal to use a cell phone while driving in a school zone, with potential fines up to $200. This applies to anywhere on school property, including drop-off and pick-up lines, regardless of whether you are using the phone hands-free. The law aims to increase pedestrian safety and prevent driver distraction.
Jewelry in Primary -Please do not send primary students to school wearing jewelry (such as necklaces, bracelets, or similar items). These accessories can pose safety risks during the school day and also increase the likelihood of items being lost.
Car Tags -Car tags must be displayed daily for all students. This requirement is mandatory and part of our established safety protocols. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Tutorials and Pick Up time: Reminder tutorials is over at 4:45 pm. Please pick up your student promptly at 4:45 pm.
Chess Club: Chess Club is over at 4:30 pm. Please ensure that your child is picked up promptly at 4:30 pm.
Tumble Tots: Tumble Tots is over at 4:15 pm. Please ensure that your child is picked up promptly at 4:15 pm.

Character Word of the Month - Honesty-March
What is Honesty?
Honesty means telling the truth, being sincere, and acting in a trustworthy way — even when it’s difficult.
It includes:
🗣️ Telling the truth (not lying or hiding important information)
🤝 Keeping promises
💬 Being real about your feelings and actions
🧭 Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching
Honesty is not just about words — it’s also about actions.
For example:
If you make a mistake and admit it, that’s honesty.
If you return something that doesn’t belong to you, that’s honesty.
If you say what you truly think (respectfully), that’s honesty.
Honesty builds:
Trust
Strong relationships
Self-respect
Integrity
Why does Honesty matter? Honesty matters because it builds the foundation for trust, strong relationships, and personal integrity.
Here’s why it’s so important:
🤝 It Builds TrustWhen you tell the truth, people learn they can rely on you. Trust is the foundation of friendships, families, workplaces, and communities. Without honesty, trust breaks down.
2. ❤️ It Strengthens Relationships
Healthy relationships depend on openness and truth. Honesty prevents misunderstandings and helps solve problems in a respectful way.
3. 🧠 It Builds Self-Respect
When you are honest, you feel proud of yourself. You don’t have to remember lies or worry about being “found out.” You feel confident and clear.
4. 🌱 It Encourages Growth
Admitting mistakes allows you to learn and improve. If we hide mistakes, we miss opportunities to grow.
5. 🌎 It Creates Fairness
Honesty helps create fairness in schools, workplaces, and communities. It helps people make good decisions based on accurate information.
In short:
Honesty matters because it creates trust, peace of mind, and stronger connections with others.
Acknowledge and Affirm Acts of Honesty!
