Principal Update
Dear Woodstock Community,
Our first monthly DEAR Friday is next week, Friday, September 18th 8:00 - 8:15 am. DEAR stands for "drop everything and read". We got great feedback on the district wide event we did last Spring, so our Site Council advocated for a monthly opportunity for adults to read with kids in the classrooms.
Next Friday, you are invited to stay at drop off time to read for 15 minutes with your student/s.
We ask that you:
- sign in with the teacher & wear a name tag
- offer to read with more than just your student as not everyone will likely have an adult each month
- Please find alternative care for younger siblings, as we do not have space in our classrooms for full families
See the calendar below for other family events coming up like our Community Care Day (garden clean-up) and Family Picnic before the School Open house on September 23rd.
With Woodstock Pride,
Heidi Stoetzel Earle
Principal

I5 Closure and the impact on school buses
By now we hope you have heard about the structural work being done on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the Downtown corridor. The PPS transportation team has been working with the city and our local school bus companies to prepare for the traffic disruptions.
If your child rides the bus traveling WEST of the school, please be prepared for longer rides. It is hard to predict the impacts to traffic in SE, we will keep you posted as we navigate this together.
REMINDER: Complete Student Yearly Verification
Each year parents and/or guardians are asked to review and update the information on file for their students. This information can be reviewed, edited and submitted online via PPS ParentVUE.
Benefits of verifying online via ParentVUE:
- Complete yearly verification of your student's information
- Update your communication and language preferences
- Ensure your school has the most up-to-date information
- Save paper and time
