Dear Lemon Crest Families,

Safety First at Drop-Off and Pick-Up
We need everyone’s help to keep our students safe during drop-off and pick-up. Please remember to drive slowly, stay alert, and follow staff directions in the car lanes. Our team is working hard every day to make sure all children arrive and leave safely, but we can’t do it without your cooperation.

Most importantly, please treat our staff and other families with respect. A little patience and kindness go a long way toward keeping everyone safe and modeling the behavior we want our students to see.

We're halfway through one of our BUSIEST months of the year! Read on for information about Jog-a-Thon, Boo Grams, Red Ribbon Week and the Halloween Parade!

Jog-A-Thon

We are about halfway through our Jog-A-Thon fundraiser and have met 50% of our goal!!! We have raised $7,953 of our $15,000 goal!!! Mrs. Dennis and Ms. Brewer's classes are in first place for overall participation. πŸ₯³ The class with the highest percentage of participation at the end will all get to attend the Slam Dunk Squad assembly! Donations are still being taken online and cash/check can be turned in at the school. Approximately 15% of all students have participated online. If each student raises at least $15, we will reach our goal!

If you haven't been able to access your student's personalized website, go to https://app.99pledges.com/fund/lemoncrest25 and search your students first name and last initial. Then it's easy to copy the link and share with family and friends.

The PTA also needs your student's T-shirt size! From your students' profile management page (sent to you in an email from 99 Pledges) there is an option to select a shirt size. Sizes are not guaranteed but this will make it easier for them to distribute shirts next week.

Here is all the information regarding the jog-a-thon: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18N7UMeVwyatD366ZgsAzZnzY2_qHcaIE/view?usp=drive_link

If you have any questions regarding the fundraiser or actual Jog-A-Thon (10/24), please reach out to the PTA at lemoncrestpta@gmail.com

Boo Gram sales have been extended!

The PTA will continue collecting Boo Gram tags and money through next Wednesday (10/22). The PTA will be outside the MPR before and after school to collect your Boo Grams.

California Healthy Kids Survey California Healthy Kids Survey

5th grade Parents/Caregivers, we're so close to getting all slips back!!

Action Required for 5th Grade Parents & Caregivers: Please complete this form related to the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS). Thanks in advance!

The CHKS Survey is a critical piece of data collection that we need and use as a school site to help us make informed, data-based decisions about how our 5th graders are feeling about school. The survey is anonymous, but we need parents/caregivers to either complete the above digital permission slip OR a paper permission slip so students can participate.

Last year, we only had 49% of our entire group of 5th graders participate. We're hoping for at least 75-80% this year, and the 5th grade class with the highest percentage will be rewarded by a Principal Price Pizza Party! :)

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price Contacting Teachers & Principal Price

If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!

Contacting Principal Price:

  • Email: jprice@lsusd.net

  • Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available

  • In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!

Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.

Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
