Hello families. We are almost through the first quarter of school, which means classroom routines are established, baseline data has been collected, small group instruction has begun, and we are well into learning content. We wanted to touch on a few highlights for you to reference.

Conferences- Thank you for participating in conferences and collaborating with our teaching staff. It was nice to meet those of you who stopped by our offices for a visit. We appreciate partnering in your student’s education.

Data Day: Antonio Kulkok led staff through a Data-Driven Discussion Training. Our teachers engaged in reviewing various data sets to create groups and inform instruction. Data included: Fastbridge scores for grades k-3, NWEA (or MAP) scores for grades 4-8, Interim scores, MCA scores, unit assessments or other data deemed appropriate for the specific grade level or content level. Many of you received family reports at conferences with your student’s results; please reach out with any questions you have. We know that data-driven instruction leads to increased academic performance.

Quarterly Rally Recap: This week, we held our Quarterly Rallies, a celebration of our S.P.A.R.K. behavior incentive program. S.P.A.R.K. stands for Success, Perseverance, Accountability, Respect, and Kindness, and this month’s focus was on "S" for Success.

Our new middle school PE teacher, Taylor Wink, shared his inspiring journey to becoming a professional baseball player, highlighting the power of perseverance, teamwork, and the importance of staying curious. We also celebrated students' achievements in activities like the Student Council, the Musical, the Writing Contest, and Volleyball.

Students were reminded that they could earn S.P.A.R.K. tickets for positive behavior. When the S.P.A.R.K. containers fill up, students earn exciting floor-level incentives. Keep sparking success, everyone!

Parade: Please come support our student council this Saturday, October 26 as they participate in the Anoka Grand Parade. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m.

Pastry with the Principal: Our next Pastry with the Principal is scheduled for November 1. This month we are celebrating students who demonstrate β€œResponsibility”. If your child is selected, you will be notified by teachers via email and are welcome to join us in the celebration. We look forward to this monthly tradition.

Thank you for sharing your students with us. We are off to a great start!

Sincerely,

Dr. Murphy & Dr. Halley
