MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Mr. Sibley

The first semester of the 2021-22 school year is officially complete! A BIG shout out to all of our students and staff for your hard work and perseverance this semester. Our return to school has had its challenges but it has been a great semester! It was so refreshing this semester to get back to all the events that make school wonderful - concerts, plays, sports, and Homecoming. Now, you all deserve a break. Take the next two weeks to relax and rejuvenate and get ready for the spring semester when we return in January.

Teachers will come back from the break on January 3rd for two professional development days. Students return on Wednesday, January 5th - which is a late start day so you can ease your way back into getting up early and ready for school!

Before Mr. Elertson left last year, he and the CTE team started work on a virtual tour website for NMSHS. I’m excited to announce that work is finally finished! Check it out here: VIRTUAL TOUR or on our website under “About NMSHS”. You’ll see 360 panoramas of the school and videos from our wonderful CTE teachers explaining their programs. I hope you find it informative and please feel free to share with your friends and family all of the wonderful things happening right here at NMSHS.

Finally, I want to thank the parents and community members who helped make the teachers and staff feel appreciated this week. We enjoyed croissants and fruit on Monday, bagels on Friday, and every teacher and staff member received a gift card to a local business. Plus we all get a free ride on the Carousel of Happiness and a day at the RINK! So thank you to everyone who donated to give a boost to the teachers and staff at NMSHS, and to Nancy Kress for spearheading the effort. What a great community!

Have a safe and wonderful winter break and we’ll see you back in 2022!
