Message from Mr. Kilpatrick and Mrs. Rady
Welcome Back Parents,
A new school year means new opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s journey — we’re excited to partner with you every step of the way.
Transportation
Bus Stop Request
To request a bus stop, contact Mrs. Donner (susan.donner@nhcs.net). Students are assigned to a community stop nearest their home address and must be assigned a bus number before they can ride. School bus transportation will not be available until a Bus Pass is issued to the student.
Following the first two weeks of school, students will be notified of bus assignments by receiving a Bus Pass at the school. Bus requests take 3-5 days to process.
All K-2 bus riders must have the permission to drop-off form filled out. It needs to be filled out annually. The link for the form is below.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
🌅 ARRIVAL: Car riders may begin arriving at 7:15 AM. Please have students ready to exit with their backpack on and seatbelt unbuckled. Students may exit independently if a staff member isn’t there to assist. Parents should remain in their vehicles.
🚶♀️🚲 WALKERS & BIKERS: Use the designated crosswalks supervised by Deputy Brown or a staff member. Bikers must walk their bikes across crosswalks and wear a helmet! Parents, please say goodbye at the crosswalk or bike rack rather than walking to the door.
🌅 DISMISSAL: Car riders will be called as their cars move through the pickup line. Please display your car sign in the front window and remain in your vehicle. Students may enter their cars independently when needed. This is a great opportunity to practice getting in, getting settled, and buckling up quickly. Please do not pull out of the car line—the line will be released when all students are safely in their cars.
🚶♀️🚲 WALKERS & BIKERS: Parents should wait on the Masonboro Loop Road side of the crosswalk or behind the KELLY Road gate. Please only cross if your child needs help getting their bike. Students should walk bikes across the crosswalk.
Thank you for helping us make arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone! ⭐️

Please take a moment to review our bell schedule and plan ahead. And remember, all dismissal changes must be reported to the main office by noon each day so we can make sure dismissal is safe and smooth for everyone.

Student Expectations
At Masonboro, we believe high expectations help every student SOAR! 🦅❤️💙
Our SOAR initiative gives students a positive framework for success: Safe, Organized & Orderly, Attentive & with a positive Attitude, and Respectful.
