November 21st

Friday, November 21st
As we head into Thanksgiving break, we want to take a moment to celebrate all the hard work, growth, and dedication our students and staff have shown this semester. The past few months have been filled with accomplishments, both big and small, and we are grateful for the support of our families and our school community.
We hope this break gives everyone time to rest, recharge, and enjoy meaningful moments with loved ones. Thank you for your continued partnership, and we look forward to returning refreshed and ready to finish the semester strong. Wishing you all a safe, happy, and restful Thanksgiving!

Student of the Month - Payton Steiniger
Payton Steiniger is an exceptional leader and a bright light on our campus. As a color guard captain and vice president of Thespian Troupe 11830, she plays a major role in strengthening our performing arts programs. Payton recently starred as the title character in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical and is active in NHS, multiple UIL teams, and the Texas Thespians Aspiring Educator Program. She also qualified for the International Thespian Festival and has been a key part of our UIL One Act Play company. Payton is always willing to help a friend, and her positivity makes CMHS better.
Employee of the Month - Megan Thomas
We are thrilled to recognize Megan Thomas as our Staff Member of the Month! Mrs. Thomas is one of our incredible counselors, known for her kind heart, sweet demeanor, and constant smile. She meets every student with patience, understanding, and genuine care, making a lasting impact on our campus. Mrs. Thomas goes above and beyond to support our students academically, emotionally, and socially, always ensuring they feel heard and valued. Her kindness and warmth make her a shining light in our school community. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas, for everything you do to serve our kiddos so wonderfully!

FFA Pop-Tab Community Service Project
We’re excited to announce that our FFA Pop-Tab Community Service Project is underway! We’re collecting aluminum pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House, and we’d love your help spreading the word and getting involved!
Here’s how you can participate:
Collect pop tabs from cans (soda, soup, etc.).
Encourage your 2nd period to bring in as many as they can!
Turn in your collection to Mrs. Watkins or the office by December 4th.
The winning 2nd period class gets a hot chocolate party.
This simple act makes a big difference — those tiny tabs add up fast and help fund important programs for families in need.
If you have any questions or need another classroom collection baggie, please reach out to Mrs. Watkins!
Attendance Reminder
We want to remind families of the proper procedure when a student is not feeling well during the school day. If a student begins feeling sick at school, they must go through the nurse’s office before leaving campus. The nurse will assess the student and determine whether they need to go home.
Students who sign out for an “appointment” and later bring a note stating they were not feeling well will not be excused. For an illness-related absence to be excused, the student must be evaluated and sent home by the school nurse. If the student leaves for illness without being seen by the nurse, they must return with a doctor’s note for the absence to be excused.
Thank you for helping us ensure all attendance procedures are followed and that students are properly cared for while at school.
