Last Week of School!

Dear Families,

We made it to the last week of school! It's hard to believe that the end is here. It has been SUCH a privilege to work with your students. I cannot begin to explain the amount of growth we have seen over the course of one school year. We are so proud of our Tiny Trojans and we will miss them dearly. I just want to personally express, as principal, what a joy and honor it is to work with your children - and all of you! I truly care about each of your children and the investment we are making in their futures. I can confidently tell you that your children have been loved and cared for each day of the school year by my amazing team. I wish you could see the dedication and passion they have for their positions and your children in general. We wish our kindergarten students ALL THE BEST as they transition to their new elementary schools. I sincerely hope that I see many of our families back when we open the new school in two years.

We saw tremendous growth on our iReady assessment! Way to go, Tiny Trojans! Once again, we crushed goals and remained very competitive with district and national norms!

Graduation tickets were sent home. Please read the reminder sheet that was sent with the tickets as well as the graduation info found further down in the newsletter.

Tomorrow is FIELD DAY! Please see the reminders further down in the newsletter.

We DO have school on Thursday, following graduation. We just have the ceremony on Wednesday due to the availability of the NHHS gym.

Have a great week!

Please call the NPES office at 270-351-4464 or email laurabeth.hayes@hardin.kyschools.us if I can help you with anything!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Hayes (principal)

Field Day Tomorrow!

Kindergarten Field Day is an all-day, fun event at NPES! It is planned for Monday, May 18th. We will also have the grad walk with NHHS seniors that day at 1:30. They come to our school to walk the halls and we cheer for these former Tiny Trojans!

Field Day is not open to guests because it is not a traditional field day with competitive events. Students go through stations all day and the event is filled with fun!

  • Staff are not permitted to apply sunscreen, so if you want your child to have sunscreen, please apply it in the morning. I suggest students wearing hats or bringing sunglasses.
  • Make sure students are wearing TENNIS SHOES.
  • Make sure your child has a change of clothes, like always.
  • Make sure your child has a filled water bottle. It's going to be a lot warmer tomorrow!

Thank you for understanding that we will NOT budge on this number of tickets and we will not make exceptions. We want the experience to be special and memorable, and it is NOT pleasant if there are not enough seats. You will be able to stream for additional family members. This is more tickets than most graduation ceremonies and many school events for my own children have only allowed 2 family members. Thank you for understanding as we strive to make it a great night for our students and families!

Kindergarten graduation will be May 20th at North Hardin High School (gymnasium) in the evening. We will have TWO sessions: one for 1/2 of the classrooms and one following for the other 1/2 of kindergarten classrooms. There will be a ticket limit per family. This is required in order to control the crowd and allow for it to be a pleasant experience for everyone. As future Trojans, it is very special for our students to "graduate" at North Hardin. There are many reasons why we conduct this event inside instead of outside. This is our third year in keeping this tradition and we have the event very streamlined and organized. We will share more specific information closer to time. We are very firm on our guidelines regarding graduation and will stick to those guidelines for everyone's best interest - especially our students. We will live stream the graduation via HCEC-TV, just like the high school graduations. This is a HUGE event (over 3000 people attended last year), and we appreciate your support and cooperation so that it is a great night!
