From the desk of Mrs. J. Peters, Assistant Principal
Final Thoughts from Mrs. Peters - May 20th
I sure am going to miss this place. There are so many things that I learned while working at SMS and Muraski these past 16 years. It's hard for me to believe that in a blink of an eye I have completed my 34 year career in education and am now retiring. The kindergarten class that I started with at Muraski would be graduating from college this year. In a blink of an eye- the children grow up and become successful adults in our workforce. I know they are out there doing great things to make our world a better place. I am so proud to have been a small part in the lives of so many children in my career. I have heard from many over the years. Some have come back to say hello, or have reached out to apologize for silly behavior that they did, or just to say thank you. I have truly enjoyed my role in your child's life.
Please take care of each other and remember to treat others the way you want to be treated. It is so easy to be kind. You can make your journey through SMS the best it can be, but remember you are the driver so steer yourself in the right direction.
Take the time to LOOK UP from your phone. There is so much that you are missing by scrolling and scrolling...Focus on yourself and live in the present. We have so many great students at SMS. You are all so lucky to live in Strongsville. There is so much to offer. So take advantage and build relationships with the students and families that are here.
SMS Parents- Hug your children and support their teachers. We want them to succeed just like you, but we need a partnership. We need you to believe what is happening when things are reported. We have to keep holding our students accountable. They are going to make mistakes, and that's okay. Allow for the discipline at school so that they can learn and not repeat the same behavior. The more our students learn from their mistakes, the better the classroom environment will be. We want our students to have integrity and make the right decisions even when no one is watching.
SMS is a great place to learn and grow - Please continue to be part of the journey. Enjoy the time as your children grow up. It's the best ride I have been on. I look forward to keeping up with what our SMS kids are doing and their success in and out of school.
Thank you for sharing your children with me.
Sincerely,
Justina Peters
