A message of thanks from Interim Superintendent Rebecca Miner
Generous coat donations bring warmth to our students
Our hearts are full after numerous organizations donated coats to our students over the past few weeks.
South County Fire donated more than 300 coats to the Edmonds Hub after their 24-hour shift last week!
CPE student, Zoey, is all smiles for this new cozy, blue winter coat!
The Lynnwood Council of the Knights of Columbus, in partnership with the Edmonds Lions Club, donated new winter coats to nine Edmonds School District elementary and middle schools, amounting to 192 brand new winter coats.
We are truly grateful to our community partners for their generous donations!

District athletes soar to state
Fall athletics brought plenty to celebrate this season, including trips to state competitions.
Girls Volleyball
Congratulations to the Meadowdale and Lynnwood high school volleyball teams for a great showing at last week's State Volleyball Tournament in Yakima! After an impressive 12-2 regular season record, including playing for the District Championship, Meadowdale fought hard, but came up short against top 8 finishers North Thurston and Lake Washington on Thursday. Lynnwood defeated Auburn Riverside in the play-in game, came up short against 3rd place finisher Peninsula, then treated everyone in the Sun Dome to a thrilling upset of top-ranked Snohomish, defeating the panthers 3-2, with a score of 16-14 in the 5th set. Congrats to both teams on an amazing season!

Performance Reports & School Improvement Plans are online!
With the launch of new websites, we thought it was a good time to rethink how we post and share our annual school performance reports and school improvement plans.
New and improved format!
Each school website has a new School Performance Report page that includes the school’s 2022-23 school improvement plan, Washington State report card information, school mission and building information.
Additionally, the district website provides a collection of links to each report:
Madrona K-8 and Maplewood K-8 options
If interested, attend a school tour soon to be eligible for the fall 2023 lottery
All district families are welcome to tour and enter into the lottery to attend either Madrona K-8 or Maplewood Parent Cooperative.
Madrona K-8 School
Madrona K-8 classrooms follow a multi-age structure. Primary and intermediate centers have two or three teachers who work with a group of students for three years. The middle school is also multi-age with seventh- and eighth-grade students working with a two-year curriculum. Families are actively involved and everyone in the community belongs to the Madrona Integrated Team (MIT).
When are the remaining tours prior to the lottery for the 2023-24 school year?
10-11 a.m., Dec. 13, 2022 (check in at the main office upon arrival).
Maplewood Parent Cooperative
Maplewood’s K-8 program is based on a cooperative model that utilizes the strengths and talents of its parent/family partners to provide enriching opportunities for students. Each family actively participates in learning and activities through the Parent Cooperative Education Program (PCEP) parent group.
When are the remaining tours prior to the lottery for the 2023-24 school year?
10 a.m., Dec. 7, 2022 – At Maplewood
10 a.m., Jan. 4, 2023 – At Maplewood
10 a.m., Jan. 18, 2023 – At Maplewood
7 p.m., Jan. 25, 2023 on Zoom
What is the lottery process?
Enrollment is open to students across the district, but there are a limited number of spots in each grade level. Priority is given to families who have a student already enrolled in schools. To enter the lottery, interested parents must attend a tour and complete the necessary paperwork. The kindergarten lottery takes place in mid February and drawing for all other grades is dependent on enrollment availability.
