New School Hours - Elementary Only!

New School Hours:

First Day of School: Tuesday, August 12th

Doors open: 7:15 am

Dismissal: 2:45 pm

Wednesday Dismissal Time: 2:05**

To best serve our community, we will open the front gates at 7:00 am. Parents may begin to drop students off at 7:15 am. This will allow parents who need to be at work early to drop students off at a reasonable time. Students will enjoy breakfast from 7:15 am - 7:40 am. Parents and students may walk to the classrooms at 7:30 am; you will wait in the cafeteria with your child until 7:30 am.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival

Doors open at 7:15 am. Parents, please drive extremely slow when making the first turn behind the school. Due to the construction, we had to create smaller lanes. We are removing the curb this Saturday, so we thank you in advance for your patience.

Please drive all the way around to the Elementary Office to drop off students, and the staff will support your children in entering through the elementary doors. Parents, we can assist with opening the car doors, so the traffic can successfully continue to flow. They will be able to enter through the front office doors and the door near the playground. If you have a middle or high school student, they will be able to walk along the side walk to enter the Secondary Gym doors. This will help with the traffic flow on Alameda. We will be outside to support guidance and assist students in exiting cars. Please be patient if a student needs to safely cross the lanes and cross walk.

Breakfast is from 7:15 am - 7:40 am. Please ensure students are here on time to receive breakfast and make it to their classes by 7:45 am. Students are tardy after 7:45 am, but we are going to support them the first 4 days of school.

Parents may walk students to class at 7:30 am from the cafeteria. Please park in the parking lot, and walk your child to the elementary entrance. All doors close at 7:45 am, and students will have to enter through the elementary entrance.

When students arrive to Lotus Elementary, they will sit in the cafeteria to either eat breakfast, complete homework, read a book, or hang out with classmates until 7:40 am. Students who are not eating breakfast, may leave the cafeteria at 7:30am. Parents will say goodbye to their children, and exit Lotus Elementary by 7:45 am. This will allow teachers to get prepared for the instructional day.

Dismissal

The students are dismissed at 2:45 pm. Dismissal time is from 2:45 pm - 3:30 pm. Car riders will have a number assigned to them and a Car Rider pro tag for the car. At the start of the school year, please keep your students' number on your dashboard to make it easier for the staff members to call their number over the radio. Students who have siblings in Secondary, will be in the Gym by 3:15 pm. Late pick ups, will report to the office by 3:30 pm. Students may not reenter the building. This will provide safety and ensure students are with their parents. Please read the attached document: Important Dismissal Procedures.

Important Update: Dress Code

Parents,

I apologize for the confusion about the sweatshirts, jackets, and sweaters. I updated the change to read:

Uniform tops:

Solid burgundy polo with the Lotus polo

Uniform bottoms:

Bottoms can be any color pants, including jeans preferably with no holes, slacks, shorts, and/or skirts as long as they comply with the dress code.

Footwear:

Fishnet or torn tights are not allowed.
Tights may not be used as pants in any shape or form.
Crocs or croc-like shoes, sandals, flip-flops, high heels (more than 1.5”), open toed/heeled shoes, or platform shoes are not allowed.

We do ask that our students wear the Lotus Polo which we will enforce on September 8, 2025. We will send gentle reminders Class Dojo to remind parents. We do want our students to only wear their jackets, sweatshirts, and sweaters outside when it's cold. We do understand it will get cold in the classroom. Let's ensure the students can wear long sleeves to show the uniformed polo. Thank you!
