KEWASKUM DISTRICT NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR
Dear Kewaskum Families,
It’s hard to believe another school year is almost here! We are excited to welcome our students and families back for the 2026–27 school year and look forward to another great year of learning, growth, and opportunity across the Kewaskum School District.
Mark your calendars! The first day of school is Tuesday, September 1.
Our teachers, staff, and administrators are busy preparing our schools and classrooms, and we can’t wait to see our students back in the buildings. The first day is always filled with excitement, new faces, familiar friends, and plenty of energy. We’re looking forward to getting the year off to a great start!
The transition from summer to school can sneak up on all of us. A little preparation now can make those first few days much easier for students and parents! Here are a few ways to get ready:
Get back into a routine. Start moving bedtimes and wake-up times closer to the school-year schedule. Even shifting things by 15–30 minutes every few days can make that first week easier.
Talk about the year ahead. Ask your child what they’re excited about, what they hope to learn, and whether there is anything they are nervous about. Starting those conversations now helps students approach the new year with confidence.
Get organized. Check school supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, and other essentials before the night of August 31. Older students can also start thinking about how they’ll keep track of assignments, activities, and deadlines.
Review transportation plans. Make sure everyone knows the plan for getting to and from school, especially if transportation arrangements have changed since last year.
Practice morning routines. A trial run can work wonders! Decide when everyone needs to wake up, how much time is needed to get ready, and when you need to leave the house.
Make attendance a priority from Day 1. Consistent attendance helps students build routines, stay connected with classmates and teachers, and keep pace academically.
Keep the excitement going. A new school year is a fresh start. Encourage your child to try something new, meet someone new, join an activity, or set a goal for the year.
We look forward to seeing our students and families and to kicking off another outstanding school year together.
