Calhoun Ranger Report - 3/27
π A Note From Ms. Sara Anderson
Dear Calhoun Early Childhood School Families,
As we head into the next couple of weeks, you will notice quite a bit of information coming your way, so please excuse the length of this newsletter. We have two short but very full weeks ahead, especially with our extended weekend. There will be no school on Friday, April 3rd or Monday, April 6th.
Before we get there, we would love for you to join us for some fun in the sun at our Parent Training on April 2nd from 5:30β6:30 PM. Our amazing district School Support Specialists from the Family Resource Center will be sharing helpful ideas and resources to support you in planning a successful and enjoyable summer for your family. It will be an informative and engaging evening, and we hope to see many of you there!
If you plan to attend and need childcare, please be sure to sign up using the link below.
Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekendβwe look forward to seeing you soon!
Warmly,
Principal Anderson

π Cultural Night at Calhoun!
Calhoun Early Childhood School is excited to host our First Annual Cultural Night! We would love for families to participate by sharing their culture with the Calhoun community. You may choose to join our fashion show, perform a dance or music piece, create a cultural display, bring a food item, or set up a simple activity such as henna art, coloring, or another art project that represents your culture.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 16th from 5:30β6:30 PM. After we receive sign-ups, we will send more information about set-up. Please complete the Google form by Thursday, March 26th if you are interested in participating and sharing your culture with others.
Check out the link below for information on how you can support your child at home through Conscious Discipline tips and strategies.

Reminders
π’ Please remember that while our school time starts at 7:30am, we are outside and greeting kids starting at 7:00am. We have had very few cars arriving between 7:00am-7:20am. If you wait until the last minute to bring your child in the carpool line, you run the risk of arriving tardy. Please make sure to plan ahead and utilize the line before 7:15am. You will get in and out with no wait!
β° For safety and efficiency, students will not be released after 2:00pm. Please plan ahead for appointments or other time commitments to ensure your child is picked up before this time.
π Please remember that we run two car lines at the same time:
From the North: Turn left into the left lane of the parking lot. This lane is for Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and South Plains.
From the South: Turn right into the parking lot and use the right lane, which wraps around to the back of the building. This lane is for Big Bend, Hill Country, and Panhandle.
π΅Please enter the parking lot with caution and avoid using your phone while driving. As you turn in, use your blinker to signal. This helps us clearly distinguish Calhoun families from neighborhood traffic and ensures a smoother, safer arrival for everyone.

π· Calhoun ECS Event Photos
If you attended our PTO events like Touch-A-Truck or our Family Engagement Night and had your picture taken by Panhandle Blended Pre-k Teacher, Adrian Gonzalez, he has kindly created a folder to house the great pictures he has taken of our families. I will keep this in the Ranger Report each week for you to be able to access at your convenience.
