🏫 Around the Building: Welcome Back to School!

September has arrived! During our first few weeks, the Wells Wildcats hit the ground running by practicing building-wide expectations, mastering classroom routines, and practicing bus evacuation procedures. Students enjoyed connecting with new friends, demonstrating assembly expectations, and celebrating the end of our fantastic opening week with popsicles on the blacktop. We are already so proud of our Wildcats, especially those who earned our very first kindness awards for going above and beyond to make others feel welcome. It is going to be an amazing school year!

September 7th=Labor Day

September 8th=No Student Attendance

💡 Principal’s Corner: Thank you!

As we kick off this new school year, I want to express my gratitude to our incredible staff, families, and school community partners. Your support, dedication, and encouragement make our school a truly special place for students to learn and grow. I am proud of our hard-working educators, our supportive families, and our strong community—each group plays an important role in the success of our Wildcats. It is an absolute honor and joy to serve as your principal, and I look forward to working together to make this school year our best one yet!

Building Language Skills at Home

Strong language skills help children communicate their ideas, understand what they read, and succeed across all areas of learning. Families can build language every day through simple conversations and activities. Talk, talk, talk! Ask your child open-ended questions like “Why do you think that?” or “What would you do?” Encourage them to explain their thinking and use new or interesting words. Read together and talk about the characters, events, and new vocabulary. You can also build language by telling stories, describing what you see, playing word games, and encouraging your child to share about their day. Go outside and discover all kinds of interesting things in the fall. Every conversation is an opportunity to grow your child’s vocabulary and confidence!

At school we provide many experiences and opportunities for even our youngest learners to be inquisitive, ask questions, and wonder! In this picture a couple of students from Miss Widick's kindergarten explore and ask questions about a caterpillar in Mrs. Manis' science class.
