EAST AVE. Dine Out!
LCAP Committee Parent Volunteer from EAST AVE.
You may be asking, “What is the LCAP?”
LCAP stands for Local Control and Accountability Plan. Simply put, it is the District’s roadmap for improving our schools. The LCAP identifies the District’s major goals and priorities for students, the actions and programs that will support those goals, and how funding will be used to help make them happen.
The LCAP addresses important areas that directly affect our students, including academic achievement, student engagement, school climate and safety, attendance, support for English learners and other student groups, and opportunities for parents and families to be involved in our schools.
Why do we need a parent representative?
An important part of developing the LCAP is hearing directly from the people our schools serve. Parents need to have a voice in the conversation. Our representative will have the opportunity to provide the perspective of an East Avenue family, learn more about District priorities and programs, and provide input about the needs of our students and schools.
You do not need to be an education expert, understand school budgets, or know anything about the LCAP before volunteering. We are simply looking for a parent or guardian who cares about our students, is willing to listen and learn, and is comfortable sharing a parent perspective.
Meetings are once a month starting in October
Please email me if you would like to be considered for this position. Mneal@lvjusd.org
Protect Your Student's Chromebook for as low as $22 with School Device Coverage!
I cannot stress enough the importance of getting this insurance. Your kids walk around with chromebooks everyday and don't always treat them well. From accidentally dropping them, throwing their backpacks around with their chromebooks inside, and just random things that happen, this insurance covers it.
Our District has partnered with School Device Coverage to offer parents optional, affordable insurance coverage for 1st through 12th-grade students’ LVJUSD-issued Chromebooks. (TK and Kindergarten students use a class set of Chromebooks when needed and are not issued individual devices. This coverage does not apply to students in TK or Kindergarten.)
Replacement costs without insurance can be as costly as $399 per device. School Device Coverage offers two policies, Basic and Expanded.
Coverage can be purchased through October 31, 2026, to insure your student’s Chromebook through July 31, 2027. (Coverage of device begins after the purchase of a policy has been processed and MUST be purchased before any damage occurs.) Policies can be purchased online at https://schooldevicecoverage.com/signup
Contact School Device Coverage directly at 1(888) 978-3515 with any questions
