If your student has accidently come home with an extra spoon or fork that doesn't match your home set, please return it to Ms. Kelly in the cafeteria.
"DID YOU KNOW?"
EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS. “Did you know?" We have just 16 school days left before summer break! The last day of school is June 5. Students with strong attendance at Lewis have dropped back down to 80%. Our goal for this year was 83% and we reached that goal during several months of the school year. Let’s try to get back up to 83% in the final weeks of school!
As students solidify their academic and social-emotional skills, they gain confidence in themselves as learners. The lower grades will be showing off their reading skills with end-of-year assessments next week. Please make sure your child comes to school every day they are healthy so they can demonstrate all they’ve learned and take part in our community celebrations.

Dear Fifth Grade Families and Lewis Community,
We will be having our Fifth Grade Promotion on June 4th. We are putting party bags together for each student to make things extra special. I am looking for donations for the bags. This can be done by an individual or a group of individuals together. We have 47 fifth graders this year. Gift ideas for the bags include gift certificates for an ice cream cone or slice of pizza, Starbucks gift cards, any local area gift cards, picture frames from DollarTree, candy bars, Oaks Park admission tickets, or other fun little things. Be creative and have fun. If you would like to participate please let me know. Items may be dropped off to the main office anytime prior to June 2nd.

The energy is building, the banners are being prepped, and the glitter is ready—it’s time for our 6th Annual Pride Parade! Join us on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lewis. What began as a small, heartfelt school parade has blossomed into a beautiful, vibrant tradition for our entire community. It’s a day where we celebrate inclusion, diversity, and the simple, powerful act of love. This year, we’re dreaming even bigger to ensure every student and neighbor feels the warmth of this incredible community.
The Lewis Pride celebration is a vital, joyful sanctuary in an increasingly divided world. It’s our chance to stand together, loud and proud, to cheer on our kids and lift up our queer community. We aren't just hosting an event; we are building a world where every child knows they belong exactly as they are. This year we have soooooo many more fun events, tables, partners, and resources available to our kids and community! We can't wait to celebrate with you on Saturday, June 6th.
