Happy Friday DKMS parents! We've had another exciting week here in the middle school.

First, I would like to recognize our staff for all the great work they do with our students. DK PIE has done a wonderful job recognizing our teachers all week with food, drinks, and prizes! Each day I'm truly grateful for our staff's dedication, caring, and hard work they put forth in working with our students. The appreciation extends prior to and beyond teacher appreciation week!

Due to severe weather and tornado warnings on Tuesday we had to cancel our band concert. Mrs. Knight has rescheduled the concert for Thursday May 16, 2024 beginning at 9:30 am in the high school. Information has been sent to the band parents, but if you have further questions please contact the middle school office (269) 623-1541 or email Mrs. Knight at sara.knight@dkschools.org.

The deadline to turn in summer school registration forms is Friday May 17, 2024. If you did not receive the registration form and would like for your child to attend, please contact the middle school office (269) 623-1541, your child's teacher, or email me at bobby.tillman2@dkschools.org and we will give your child a registration form. As a reminder here are the summer school times and dates: Summer school will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will offer students transportation to and from school, breakfast, and lunch. Our summer school dates will be:

  • Tuesday June 18th and Wednesday June 19th
  • Tuesday June 25th and Wednesday June 26th
  • Tuesday July 9th and Wednesday July 10th
  • Tuesday July 23rd and Wednesday July 24th
  • Tuesday July 30th and Wednesday 31st

A big shout out goes to families in our community who donated formal dresses and suits for our 8th Grade students. This past Wednesday our students had the opportunity to pick some clothes and if your 8th grader is still in need of formal attire, please contact the office because there are still clothes available. On Friday May 31, 2024 our 8th graders will have their formal dance and this formal attire will be put to great use!

As always I would like to thank our staff, students, families, and community for all of their support and hard work. We are getting closer and closer to the finish line and I know we will finish strong! I also would like to say Happy Mother's Day to all of the mother's in our DK community. Have a great weekend!

Just Can't Hide That PANTHER PRIDE!!!

Thank you,

Bobby Tillman
