Calhoun Ranger Report - 11/21

Dear Calhoun Early Childhood School Families,

As I prepare to head to Mena, Arkansas to spend a few days with my family, I want to first share my heartfelt gratitude with each of you. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift—your children. I know you have a choice in where you send your child for their early learning experience, and we are truly honored that you have chosen Calhoun for this foundational year.

In the spirit of giving, I’m excited to share an upcoming opportunity to support our hard-working staff. On Wednesday, January 28th, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., we will host a drive-through donation drop-off in our back loop. We will gladly accept gently used clothing (a perfect way to make room for new holiday items!) as well as snacks and drinks to help us stock our staff planning rooms. Volunteers will be on site, and you won’t even need to step out of your vehicle. While January may feel far away, I wanted to give you plenty of time to plan. I personally cleared out 18 bags from my own closet this summer, and while it was a project, knowing the proceeds benefit our students and staff made every minute worth it. As we head into Fall Break, I hope you enjoy a restful and joy-filled few days with your loved ones. If you are traveling, I wish you a safe trip. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in December and hope to see you at our next Family Engagement Night on December 4th!

🕢 Please remember that while our school time starts at 7:30am, we are outside and greeting kids starting at 7:00am. We have had very few cars arriving between 7:00am-7:20am. If you wait until the last minute to bring your child in the carpool line, you run the risk of arriving tardy. Please make sure to plan ahead and utilize the line before 7:15am. You will get in and out with no wait!

⏰ For safety and efficiency, students will not be released after 2:00pm. Please plan ahead for appointments or other time commitments to ensure your child is picked up before this time.

🚗 Please remember that we run two car lines at the same time:

From the North: Turn left into the left lane of the parking lot. This lane is for Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and South Plains.

From the South: Turn right into the parking lot and use the right lane, which wraps around to the back of the building. This lane is for Big Bend, Hill Country, and Panhandle.

📵Please enter the parking lot with caution and avoid using your phone while driving. As you turn in, use your blinker to signal. This helps us clearly distinguish Calhoun families from neighborhood traffic and ensures a smoother, safer arrival for everyone.
