Spring ISD is raising the bar on safety, making it nearly impossible for threats to go unnoticed—and those upgrades are already showing up across campuses throughout the district.
Technicians recently leveled up camera systems at multiple campuses, accessing ceiling infrastructure to add new units, adjust positioning, secure cabling and verify connectivity to monitoring systems. The work was completed without any disruption to the school day, and every system was tested and confirmed operational. ✅
Vape detection devices were also added and put to the test at several campuses. Each device was inspected for connectivity and integration with campus monitoring systems, so when an alert needs to fire, it fires. 🚨
A huge moment arrived at the Education Performance and Instruction Center (EPIC) this week — roofing work has officially begun, and that's a big deal.
Getting the roof on is one of the most critical steps in any construction project. Once complete, it achieves what builders call "dry-in," meaning the structure is fully protected from weather and interior work can charge ahead without weather-related delays. ☔➡️🚫
The EPIC facility features eight distinct roofing system types across 13 locations, each designed to support specific building functions, including major mechanical units that keep the air conditioning running and the building's systems humming. Stay tuned — the best is still to come!
Progress is rising at the new Spring High School and it's not slowing down!
Concrete is being poured on the second floor of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) area, with floor work on the metal deck moving right along. As decking installation advances in the Ninth Grade Center, concrete work will follow, keeping the project on schedule. 💪
Across other areas of the campus, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems are being installed as structural steel construction continues through the academic wings and administration areas. Masonry walls in the Ninth Grade Center are nearly wrapped up, with crews now shifting to the main high school building to keep the momentum going.
Roofing has also kicked off on the 10th through 12th grade section of the campus — another major milestone checking off the list as the new Spring High School continues to take shape! 🏗️
