CDHS Band Announcements

Can't believe we made it, but we did!! Congrats to the Class of 2026!!! Looking forward to celebrating everyone tomorrow night. Please take note of all these final announcements for the 2025-26 school year in preparation to 26-27 school year:

District Band Tryout Music: Please find below the District 10 Band tryout music. Students: Be aware that this is the ensemble you need to audition into next year in order to NOT have to try out for Wind Ensemble. Get the music and start preparing now! Students who are serious about making the band start WELL ahead of the audition date.

Orlando Trip: Just a reminder that next year is our big Orlando Trip year. Deadline to register and create your CheddarUp account is in October 2026. Please consider starting your fundraising now!

Summer Lessons: It is a great time to think about summer lessons for your instrument. If you are looking for teachers or recommendations, please feel free to contact Mr. Bitner or myself for some contact info.

Seating Audition Music: For the start of next school year, we'll be doing seating auditions for both Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble the first week back from summer break. Students should use the County Band Audition Music found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1aIhumaUzFyptXLGpRAEdFECXygBk8A49?usp=drive_link

For Wind Ensemble members, you will be required to submit a DCMEA county band audition video around the January 2027 timeframe, as part of your participation in Wind Ensemble. Symphonic Band will be optional, but highly encouraged.

Lastly, THANK YOU to everyone for another great year as part of the CDHS Band program. It is truly a special place to work towards musical excellence with the wonderful students in our program! I hope everyone has a wonderful summer with some time to rest, recharge and get ready for the coming year. Take care and enjoy your summer!
