THE FORECAST
Back to School Night Special
Notes from the Principal's Desk
With two full weeks in the books, I am extremely proud of not only our students, but our community as well. We continue to adjust to the new schedule and make adjustments as needed with your feedback.
One of several opportunities to support and provide feedback to our programs, is School Site Council (SSC). SSC meets almost each month of the school year. There are currently open positions on our School Site Council. If you are interested, please look for information in a separate communication later this week. We are looking for FIVE parents to join the council for this school year.
RE: Schedule Changes
Scheduling changes are complex. Class changes are not taken lightly, but we are making final adjustments to the master schedule this week as we look to balance class sizes.
I hope to see you at Back to School Night this Tuesday!
Your Proud Principal
Sean Diaz

BUSD and Mayfair Partner with Interquest Canine Detection
Dear MONSOON Community,
During the upcoming months, the Bellflower Unified School District will be working with Interquest Detection Canines, a contraband detection and drug dog services provider. Using highly-trained detection dogs, this preventative program reduces the presence of drugs, alcohol and weapons on campus.
Multiple school districts across California use canine detection services.. The District will continue to implement this program at our schools as part of our multi-pronged approach to ensure school safety.
As always, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, staff and community. Should you have any questions regarding this prevention program, please feel free to contact the school office at (562) 925-9981.
We would like to express our appreciation to the Monsoons community for their partnership and ongoing support as we work to provide students with a positive and safe learning environment.
Interquest will have a table at our Back to School Night this week if you would like to visit their table and learn more about our partnership.
Sincerely,
Sean Diaz
Principal

You will be asked a series of questions to verify and authorize your information.
